Dong Nai attracts many large Thai corporations and enterprises to invest.

(DN) - On the morning of November 3, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, Vo Tan Duc, received Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam, Urawadee Sriphiromya. Also attending the meeting were Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City, Wiraka Moodhitaporn, leaders of several Thai enterprises in Dong Nai and departments, branches and sectors of the province.

Speaking at the meeting with provincial leaders, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam Urawadee Sriphiromya commented: Dong Nai is one of the top provinces in Vietnam in terms of economic development. Dong Nai and Thailand both share a green and sustainable economic development strategy, focusing on high technology in both the industrial and agricultural sectors.

According to Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya, after 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations, recently, senior leaders of the two countries have agreed to upgrade the relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership for development. This is an important turning point in the process of diplomacy and development cooperation between the two countries. Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya expects Dong Nai to contribute a lot to this important milestone.

According to Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya, recently, Dong Nai has attracted a number of large Thai enterprises and corporations to invest in Dong Nai such as: Amata Group (Amata Industrial Park, Long Binh Ward) investing in the field of industrial park and urban area infrastructure; CP Group (Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, Long Binh Ward) investing in the field of livestock; Super Energy Corporation PCL (Loc Tan Commune) investing in solar power projects...

Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya affirmed: With the advantage of Long Thanh International Airport, when it comes into operation, there will be an opportunity to increase flights connecting Dong Nai and Thailand. This is an opportunity for Thai businesses to continue to be interested in investing in Dong Nai for many years to come.

Sharing information about the potential and advantages of Dong Nai province at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc said: Dong Nai is about 30km from the center of Ho Chi Minh City, 40km from Thi Vai - Cai Mep seaport cluster and has many advantages for future development. It is expected that by early 2026, Long Thanh International Airport will complete phase 1 and be put into operation, creating a driving force for development not only for the locality but also for the entire Southern key economic region.

Since 1995, Dong Nai province has focused on expanding international cooperation with foreign partners, localities and territories around the world. After 30 years of implementation, Dong Nai province has signed 88 Memorandums of Understanding and International Cooperation Agreements (MOUs) at the provincial level with 17 countries and territories around the world, of which 27 MOUs are still in effect.

Dong Nai currently has 50 countries and territories investing in it with a total of over 2,000 projects, with a total registered investment capital of nearly 42 billion USD. Of which, Thailand is one of the important investment partners of Dong Nai province. Currently, Dong Nai province has 50 projects of Thai enterprises, with a total registered investment capital of nearly 1.7 billion USD.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the positive contributions of Thai enterprises to the local socio-economic development, and hoped that through this meeting, the Thai Embassy Delegation and Thai enterprises would have more information about Dong Nai province to serve as a basis for opening up new development cooperation opportunities between Dong Nai province and Thai partners and localities.

At the same time, we hope that the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand will continue to be an effective bridge, paying attention to introducing Thai partners and businesses to learn about and invest in Dong Nai province in the coming time. With the motto "Government accompanies businesses", Dong Nai province is committed to continuing to create favorable conditions for foreign investors in general and businesses and investors in particular in the process of operation, together aiming for the goal of sustainable, effective and long-term development.
