Repairing landslides on the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway.

Continuing his inspection and guidance visit to address the exceptionally heavy rainfall and flooding in Hue City, on October 29th, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha inspected the remediation efforts following landslides on the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway section passing through Nam Dong commune (Hue).

The exceptionally heavy rains in recent days have caused flooding and landslides in many sections of this expressway. In particular, a serious landslide occurred at Km 42, causing thousands of cubic meters of soil and rocks to spill onto the road surface. Currently, machinery and personnel have been mobilized to address the situation. Additionally, a landslide on the embankment of the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway, specifically in the section passing through Khe Tre commune (Hue province), has also been recorded.

During an on-site inspection, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested a comprehensive reassessment of the entire expressway to determine the root causes of landslides and flooding, from design to construction. Many locations along the route pose potential dangers to people and vehicles during rainfall. The Deputy Prime Minister instructed relevant units to implement fundamental solutions to prevent recurrence and to review the entire design and structure of the project to ensure long-term safety.
