Vietnam Railway Corporation said that since the evening of October 12, the forces have completed dumping rocks to fill holes, insert rocks, replace sleepers, and align the rails so that the train can run at a speed of 5 km/h through the railway section from Km16+800 - Km17+500 in the Da Phuc - Trung Gia section. Construction train HC9969 passed through this section, dumped 5 wagons of crushed rocks onto the road, and continued to run safely to Da Phuc station. The section was cleared at 9:10 p.m., officially opening the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen railway line.
To fix the problem, it is estimated that up to now, about 1,500m3 of rock has been poured and about 200 concrete sleepers have been replaced. After the road is cleared, the relevant units will continue to repair this section of road to restore the speed of the section, so that trains can run normally at the general speed on the route.

In the long term, Vietnam Railways Corporation said it will propose to the competent authority a sustainable solution for phase 2, including building a flood drainage culvert in the eroded roadbed area, to ensure quick drainage, avoiding affecting the railway infrastructure and the lives of local people.
Previously, due to storm No. 11 and the post-storm circulation causing widespread flooding, floodwaters caused serious erosion of the railway section from Km16+700 - Km18+300 in Trung Gia commune on the Dong Anh (Hanoi) - Quan Trieu ( Thai Nguyen ) route. There were 3 most severely affected locations, including a location where floodwaters washed away the entire roadbed, 40m long and about 4m deep, the rails were "suspended", creating a large gap like a broken dike, floodwaters rushed downstream, completely paralyzing the railway. The railway mobilized hundreds of human resources and machinery to organize construction in 3 shifts, urgently rescuing the railway locations where floodwaters eroded the roadbed.
