Train passengers receive a discount on their birthday.

Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company announced that it is implementing various promotional programs and ticket discounts depending on customer groups.

Specifically, passengers traveling on their birthday receive a 5% discount on their train tickets. Passengers need to provide their date of birth as shown on their identification documents.

Railways implement many preferential policies and discounts, and passengers traveling on their birthdays also receive discounted tickets (Image: illustration).

Passengers who are union members (with a union membership card) receive a 5% discount when purchasing individual tickets, and a 7% to 10% discount when purchasing group tickets for 10 or more people.

Passengers with a customer card will receive a discount based on their card type: Customer card holders will receive a 5% discount, silver card holders will receive a 10% discount, and gold card holders will receive a 15% discount.

To obtain a customer card, passengers will be advised to apply for one when purchasing tickets at ticket outlets. Passengers need to provide personal information and a mobile phone number to create the card and will accumulate points; every 10,000 VND counts as 1 point. Passengers accumulate 700 points to receive a silver card, and 1,500 points to receive a gold card.

In addition, the railway regularly applies discounts for social policy beneficiaries such as: a 90% discount on tickets for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; a 30% discount for war invalids, victims of chemical poisoning, and people with severe or extremely severe disabilities; a 15% discount for Vietnamese citizens aged 60 and above; free tickets for children under 6 years old, and a 25% discount for children aged 6 to 10 years old; and a 10% discount for students.

Additionally, from now until April 24th and from May 2nd to May 16th, 2024, several programs are offering discounts of up to 30% on ticket prices.

Accordingly, for Thong Nhat passenger trains SE3/4 and SE7/8 (Saigon - Hanoi ) with a travel distance of over 900km, SE21/22 (Saigon - Da Nang) with a travel distance of over 600km, and SNT1/2 (Saigon - Nha Trang) with a travel distance of over 300km, passengers who purchase individual tickets 5 days or more before the departure date will receive a discount of 5% to 30% on the ticket price (excluding 4-berth sleeper compartments on trains SE3 and SNT1/2).

For the SPT1/2 train (Saigon - Phan Thiet), passengers who purchase tickets for the entire Saigon - Phan Thiet route and buy them 10 days or more before the departure date will receive a 10% discount on the ticket price (excluding 4-berth sleeper compartments).

Passengers purchasing group tickets (5 or more people) receive a discount of 2% to 14% on the ticket price. Passengers purchasing round-trip tickets also receive a 10% discount on the return fare.
