During the program, delegates, local people and visitors from near and far enjoyed many special performances, notably the performance of Han Quan Cong Than Cong Tai (worshiped at Ta Phu Temple - Ky Lua). He was a military officer under the Le Dynasty - Trinh Lord, with great contributions to the development of the trading market on Lang Son land between Vietnam and China in the late 17th century. At the same time, he also expanded 7 roads and 7 wards, establishing Ky Lua market street, contributing to improving and enhancing the lives of the ethnic people of Lang Son.
According to the local people's legend, during the reign of Han County Duke Shen Gongcai, there was a year when bandits rose up to harass the people. He mobilized the garrison forces to coordinate with the people to defeat the bandits. After that victory, every year, he held a festival to celebrate the victory in early spring. Since then, the cannon festival has been held and is increasingly known by tourists from near and far.
Many people and tourists participate in the fireworks display.
The Ky Lua Firecracker Festival takes place on January 27 every year. The most special of these is the firecracker competition. According to folk belief, whoever is lucky enough to compete for the firecracker and bring it home to worship will always be healthy, have a happy family, prosperity, and good luck in the year. Due to favorable weather, this year's firecracker competition attracted a large number of people in the province and tourists from near and far to participate.
Feelings of the person who won the cannon head in 2025
At this year's festival, Mr. Dinh Van Nhien, 50 years old, Thanh Mien district, Hai Duong province won the cannon head. According to the rules of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Nhien was awarded 2 million VND, 1 tray of chicken and sticky rice, 1 tray of five fruits. Because he lives far away, the cannon head will be sent to the temple to take care of the worship and on January 20 of the following year, the person who won the cannon head must return the cannon head and have a thank you ceremony.
After the Ky Lua Cannon Festival ended, at 12 noon on February 24 (ie January 27, At Ty year), the Organizing Committee performed the procession of the palanquin of Quan Lon Tuan Tranh from Ta Phu Temple - Ky Lua, Hoang Van Thu ward to Ky Cung Temple, Vinh Trai ward.
