Dien Bien TV - On the morning of October 18, at the Dien Bien Provincial Multi-purpose Gymnasium, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Department of Physical Training and Sports - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize the opening ceremony of the 33rd National Karate Championship in 2024. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Vu A Bang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee of the tournament; Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh, Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Training and Sports - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; leaders of a number of departments, branches and over 400 athletes and coaches from 38 provinces and cities nationwide.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu A Bang emphasized: The tournament is one of a series of sports activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory; National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024 and celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee.

Athletes will compete in two categories, Kata and Kumite, for men and women, to compete for 30 sets of medals. This is an opportunity for athletes to interact, learn, and exchange experiences, while promoting the development of Karate in Vietnam. The tournament is also a basis for selecting outstanding young athletes to prepare the next generation for the national Karate team.
