Opening Ceremony of the 8th Gio Linh District Phu Dong Sports Festival

This morning, March 5th, Gio Linh district held the opening ceremony of the 8th Gio Linh District Phu Dong Sports Festival - 2024.

The 8th Gio Linh District Phu Dong Sports Festival took place from February 24th to March 11th, 2024; bringing together 861 athletes from 22 high schools in the district, competing in 7 sports , including: athletics, swimming, sepak takraw, table tennis, stick pushing, volleyball, and football.

This year's Phu Dong Sports Festival aims to further promote the "National Movement for Physical Training Following the Example of the Great President Ho Chi Minh," encouraging regular practice and competition in sports among high school students to improve their health, develop their physical abilities, and contribute to their holistic education .

This is also an opportunity to evaluate physical education and sports activities in schools throughout the district over the past period, thereby finding solutions to overcome difficulties and shortcomings, building on achievements to develop school sports movements and create more beneficial playgrounds for students; and to promptly identify, select, and nurture talented students to join Gio Linh district's sports teams to participate in the 7th Phu Dong Sports Festival of Quang Tri province in 2024.
