Attending the event were Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam Ho An Phong; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea Yong Ho Seong; Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan.

At the conference, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan said that after the merger, Da Nang City will be the largest city in Vietnam by area, consisting of 94 commune-level administrative units, including 70 communes, 23 wards and Hoang Sa Special Zone. According to the development orientation, the city is ready to become a national center for startups, innovation, trade, finance, logistics, high-tech industry and information technology, as well as a leading center for culture, sports, education, high-quality health care, scientific and technological advances in Vietnam.
In the field of tourism, Da Nang is striving to become a high-quality tourism and service center and a creative destination of Vietnam and Southeast Asia by 2030, laying the foundation to become one of the leading tourism centers in the region and the world by 2045.
According to Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan, the ASEAN-Korea Tourism Roundtable (AK-RT) is held to promote tourism exchanges and cooperation between ASEAN countries and Korea, aiming at the larger goal of strengthening cooperation and sharing economic benefits between the countries. This is an important opportunity for countries to participate in multilateral dialogue, promote cooperation and further expand the development of tourism activities.
The Da Nang City Government will always provide maximum support to create a favorable environment for the development of key industries, especially tourism; closely cooperate with relevant parties to enhance security and safety for tourists, simplify entry procedures, expand multimodal transport connections and apply technology to create a seamless and efficient travel experience for both regional and international visitors.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong also emphasized that tourism cooperation between ASEAN and Korea has made remarkable progress, not only reflected in the recovery and continuous growth of the number of exchange visitors but also in the improvement of the quality of tourism products and services and the expansion of increasingly diverse and effective forms of cooperation. In 2024 alone, ASEAN welcomed nearly 127 million international visitors, of which Korea was one of the three largest visitor markets, with about 10 million arrivals. Notably, Vietnam is the leading destination in the region chosen by Korean tourists with 4.6 million arrivals. This is a clear demonstration of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Korea, and at the same time shows the trust, love and increasingly deep attachment between the people of the two countries.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong highly appreciated the ASEAN-Korea Tourism Roundtable. Not only did it stop at sharing information or exchanging professional experiences, the conference opened up a space for in-depth and comprehensive dialogue on key issues shaping the future of the ASEAN-Korea tourism industry.
The ASEAN-Korea Tourism Roundtable (AK-RT) took place from July 2 to 4, bringing together policy makers from tourism ministries, departments and sectors of ASEAN countries and Korea, business leaders and leading experts in the tourism sector.

The conference included discussion sessions focusing on four strategic priorities: enhancing security and facilitating tourism activities; improving systems to enhance the tourist experience; training and developing human resources in the tourism industry; and promoting understanding and respect for cultural diversity among ASEAN countries and Korea.
