


Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong, along with the Organizing Committee of the Festival, laid flowers and offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at Ho Chi Minh Square and the Kim Lien National Special Historical Site in Nam Dan district before the opening ceremony of the Festival.
The 2024 Lotus Village Festival will feature many vibrant and meaningful activities centered in Vinh City and Nam Dan District. These include a flower and incense offering ceremony, reporting achievements, and commemorating President Ho Chi Minh; the Lotus Village Singing Festival with the participation of over 600 artists and performers from 20 amateur art troupes from various districts, cities, and towns; the provincial volleyball and traditional martial arts tournament; and the "Journey to Lotus Village" Marathon attracting thousands of domestic and international athletes. These events will provide an opportunity to further introduce and promote the image of Nghe An's homeland and people.
Highlights of this year's festival include performances by the National Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Ceremonial Brass Band, and the Cavalry of the Ministry of Public Security in the closing art program organized by Ho Chi Minh City in coordination with Nghe An province, themed "From Lang Sen to Ho Chi Minh City," and a street performance themed "Homeland in the Lotus Blooming Season." This will be an opportunity to introduce and promote to the whole country and international friends the culture of Nghe An, the dynamic and friendly land and people of Nghe An, always open to opportunities for cooperation and development.
Immediately following the opening speech was the art program "The Sun in the Vietnamese Sky," directed by the People's Committee of Nghe An province and the Ministry of Public Security; and implemented by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An, the Department of Party Affairs and Political Work of the Ministry of Public Security, and the Nghe An Provincial Police. The performing units included: the Nghe An Provincial Traditional Arts Center, the People's Police Music and Dance Theatre, and the People's Police Ceremonial Band.

The artistic program consists of three parts: Part I: The Lotus Blooming in the Night Sky, Part II: The Sun in the Vietnamese Sky, and Part III: The Homeland Sings Forever About Him.
This artistic program deeply reflects the love of the homeland for Uncle Ho and Uncle Ho's love for his homeland and country. It embodies the aspiration for freedom, the noble sacrifice, and the complete dedication of his life to the nation and its people. The program connects songs and excerpts, as well as scenes from the Ví and Giặm folk songs, performed continuously, both grand and powerful, yet subtle and profound, expressing the utmost respect and sincere affection for the beloved Uncle Ho.
