The festival takes place over two days (December 25th and 26th), with the participation of approximately 20 stalls showcasing and selling typical folk cakes such as Bac Ninh rice rolls, Ninh Binh crispy rice, steamed buns, savory pancakes, and many other traditional cakes from the Northern region and other localities nationwide.

Beyond showcasing and introducing products, the festival also organizes activities such as cake-making demonstrations, interactions with artisans, workshops, and seminars on the value of traditional cakes in modern life, creating opportunities for visitors to directly experience and better understand the cultural depth of traditional cuisine . Through these festivals, Ninh Binh aims to preserve and promote the value of traditional cakes as an intangible cultural heritage, while gradually transforming cuisine into a unique tourism product, contributing to promoting the image of the ancient capital region to domestic and international tourists.

Following the Northern Traditional Cake Festival, the Noodle and Pho Festival with the theme "Noodle and Rice Cuisine - Honoring the Rice Grain" and the Ninh Binh Food Festival, associated with the "Traditional Northern Tet" atmosphere, will be held successively in Nam Dinh and Hoa Lu wards from December 26th to January 2nd, 2026. These events are part of the Ninh Binh Food Festival 2025 series, contributing to promoting, introducing, and honoring the culinary essence of Ninh Binh in particular, and Vietnamese cuisine in general, to domestic and international friends.
