On the evening of April 17th, the Department of Information and Communications organized the opening ceremony of the 2024 Thai Binh Provincial Book and Reading Culture Day. Attending the event was Mr. Lai Van Hoan, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Delegates pressed the button to officially open the 2024 Thai Binh Province Book and Reading Culture Day.

To date, Thai Binh province has nearly 7,270 classroom bookcases and 478 school libraries. In addition, the public library system from the provincial to the grassroots level, along with private library models, family bookcases, clan reading spaces, etc., with their diverse and friendly activities, have played and continue to play an important role in bringing books closer to readers, fostering a spirit of learning, creativity, and respect for knowledge among Vietnamese people, and demonstrating the collective effort of the entire society in building a learning society.

This year, activities in response to Vietnam's Book and Reading Culture Day were enthusiastically organized in schools and localities throughout the province, contributing to promoting books, fostering the reading movement and the positive values ​​of reading culture, creating a vibrant and positive response among all segments of the population, and igniting a passion for reading, especially among students. This demonstrates the efforts, responsibility, and joint contributions of departments, sectors, and localities in spreading the love of books to readers in the province even more widely.

Through the activities of the Thai Binh Province Book and Reading Culture Day 2024 event from April 17-21 at Ky Ba Park (Thai Binh City), the Organizing Committee hopes to further spread the love of books to readers, contributing to encouraging and developing the reading movement among all strata of the population; forming a reading habit from each family, clan to agency, and organization, contributing to building a learning society.

Comrade Lai Van Hoan, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presented 500 books to the Provincial Library.

Leaders of the Department of Education and Training presented reference books and supplementary knowledge books for all levels of education to students of Ky Ba Secondary School and Vu Thu Town Primary School.

Leaders of the Department of Information and Communications presented gifts from sponsors to the An Duc Reading Space (Quynh Phu).

On this occasion, Mr. Lai Van Hoan, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, donated 500 books to the Provincial Library. Leaders of the Department of Education and Training donated reference books and supplementary knowledge books for all levels of education to students at Ky Ba Secondary School (Thai Binh City) and Vu Thu Town Primary School (Vu Thu District). Leaders of the Department of Information and Communications presented gifts from sponsors to the An Duc Reading Space (Quynh Phu District). Representatives from the School Books and Equipment Joint Stock Company donated a bookshelf worth 10 million VND to the Provincial Library.

At the opening ceremony, the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism launched the 2024 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest.
