On the morning of August 22, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnamese Diplomatic Service (1945-2025) and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs (1975-2025), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to organize the opening of the photo exhibition "80 years of Vietnamese Diplomacy: Honor and Pride" at Lam Son Park (Ho Chi Minh City).
Attending the ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ngo Le Van and leaders of city departments and branches. Before the opening ceremony, the delegation offered flowers to President Ho Chi Minh at the Uncle Ho Monument Park.
At the opening of the exhibition, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc affirmed that over the past 80 years, the Vietnamese diplomatic sector has always accompanied the country through every historical period, constantly promoting the glorious tradition, serving the Fatherland and the People.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee emphasized that over the past 50 years, Ho Chi Minh City has always strived to be a pioneer in foreign affairs, contributing to leaving many marks in the cause of national integration and development.
The exhibition displays 80 documentary and current events photos, including 60 photos depicting historical milestones and outstanding achievements of Vietnam's Diplomacy; 20 photos reflecting typical foreign affairs activities of Ho Chi Minh City over the past 5 decades.
According to the Organizing Committee, this is an opportunity for officials, party members, people of Ho Chi Minh City and tourists to better understand the 80-year journey of building and growing the Vietnamese diplomatic sector, as well as the important and regular role of foreign affairs in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
