The art and news photography exhibition "Proud of the Border Guards of Ho Chi Minh City" features 79 works symbolizing the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army. The exhibition portrays the image of the border guards of Ho Chi Minh City: upholding the traditions of their predecessors, adopting scientific and technical advancements to meet current demands; always maintaining a high level of vigilance and readiness for combat missions...
According to Colonel, Photographer Doan Hoai Trung, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association and Head of the Soldiers' Photography Club, " This exhibition is the result of months of hard work by our team. It fully showcases the activities of the Ho Chi Minh City border guards, from port border guards to border guards in Can Gio: Long Hoa, Can Thanh, Thanh An… Most importantly, the image of the Ho Chi Minh City border guard, through these photographs, is that of people wholeheartedly dedicated to the people, continuing the tradition of their predecessors – loyal, courageous, and ready to sacrifice – while also embracing new scientific and technical advancements and combat strategies to meet the demands of the new situation and mission."
According to Colonel Doan Hoai Trung, today's border guards are not only involved in combat readiness but also assist the people in daily tasks such as weaving nets, cleaning up, building cultural environments, and mediating disputes. Especially in times of crisis, the image of the border guard shines even brighter. They are ready to brave storms and natural disasters to help the people. They shone brightest during the COVID-19 pandemic, readily performing their duties alongside the people and protecting them – these are noble qualities.
The exhibition clearly demonstrated that the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard always acts proactively, innovatively, and creatively, striving to overcome all difficulties and hardships, ready to fight and sacrifice, and excellently fulfilling the task of protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security.
These artworks not only capture beautiful images of their courage and sacrifice in the mission to protect airspace, but also spread a message of patriotism.
The exhibition will be on display from December 22, 2023 to January 4, 2024.
