After a period of careful preparation with hundreds of selected representative photos, the exhibition “Uncle Ho’s Mausoleum - the heart of the Fatherland” is organized to promote and introduce to the people and international visitors the mission of the soldiers at Uncle Ho’s Mausoleum; contribute to orienting and fostering patriotism, educating revolutionary traditions for all classes of people, especially the young generation to have firm faith in the leadership of the Party, State and Army.
According to the organizers, the typical photos selected for display at the exhibition are arranged according to four main themes: Following His Footsteps - The Journey to Save the Country; Uncle Ho's Mausoleum - The Work of the People's Heart - The Party's Will; 50 Years of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum - Complete Loyalty; Uncle Ho's Mausoleum in the Hearts of the People and International Friends.
Through 150 precious and unique photos and documents, the exhibition introduces to the people and international visitors the journey of more than 55 years of preserving President Ho Chi Minh's body; the process of building and inaugurating the Mausoleum; the special political mission of long-term preservation and absolute safety protection of President Ho Chi Minh's body; the coordination of activities of forces in the Ba Dinh Historical - Cultural Relic Complex. Especially the glorious tradition and achievements of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Guards since its establishment until now.
Arriving at the exhibition space very early, while waiting for the organizers and delegates to lay wreaths and visit President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, we took the opportunity to chat with some visitors and young soldiers. Enthusiastically looking at the photos and meticulously reading each caption, comrade Nguyen Anh Tu, a soldier of Team 1, Group 275, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command expressed: "When we first came to the unit, during political study hours, we listened to the commanders introduce the formation process and the history and traditions of the Mausoleum soldiers. Today, directly viewing the precious documentary photos of that journey has helped me visualize and understand more clearly the work that the uncles and aunts of the previous generation worked hard to build. I feel very lucky because I have the honor of being a soldier at Uncle Ho's Mausoleum".
Taking advantage of the weekend, Ms. Pham Thi Thuy, from Phuc Loi Ward, Hanoi, and her two children visited the Ho Chi Minh Museum. She and her children were very surprised to be the first visitors to the exhibition. While the tour guide introduced, her daughter, Tran Ngoc Mai, attentively wrote down the information in a small notebook. Answering our questions, Mai said: "The photos and information surrounding the event and the characters in the photos are very interesting. Through books and newspapers, I have read some general information about the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the preservation and protection of Uncle Ho's body. But the details and vivid illustrations like this help me understand better. I wrote them down to use as study materials as well as to tell my friends!"
Mai's sharing coincides very well with the speech of Major General Pham Van Hieu in the opening speech of the exhibition. The organizers hope that, through the exhibition "Uncle Ho's Mausoleum - the heart of the Fatherland", visitors will see more clearly the wise and timely leadership and direction of the Party, State, and Army; the spirit of friendship, the wholehearted and righteous assistance of the Party, Government, and experts of the former Soviet Union and the present-day Russian Federation in the task of preserving President Ho Chi Minh's body and building the Mausoleum. In addition, there is the attention and assistance of central ministries, branches, and localities across the country; the coordination and cooperation between forces in half a century of carrying out special political tasks so that Uncle Ho's Mausoleum will forever be the "eternal flower platform" of the country and people of Vietnam.
