(To Quoc) - The exhibition aims to honor the spiritual and cultural values of the Vietnamese ethnic communities, contributing to the preservation and promotion of the precious traditional folk art heritage of the nation, while also introducing and promoting the collection of folk paintings to the people and tourists.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts Nguyen Thi Trinh said that the exhibition aims to honor the spiritual and cultural values of the Vietnamese ethnic communities, contribute to the preservation and promotion of the precious traditional folk art heritage of the nation, and introduce and promote the museum's collection of folk paintings to the people and tourists.

With over 100 representative artifacts, the exhibition introduces to the public the essence of folk painting styles from all three regions of Vietnam: North, Central, and South, including Dong Ho paintings, Hang Trong paintings, Kim Hoang paintings, Lang Sinh paintings, Hue glass paintings, Southern glass paintings, Khmer glass paintings, folk lacquer paintings, and fabric-wrapped paintings. The artifacts, including paintings and some woodblocks, were selected from a collection of 341 items donated to the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts by Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoa ( Hanoi ) and other artisans between 2022 and 2024.
Each style of painting not only possesses artistic value, reflecting the love of beauty and the refined, rustic aesthetic taste of the Vietnamese people throughout different periods, but also contains unique cultural stories, expressing the age-old aspirations of the people for a peaceful , prosperous, and happy life.

With its natural color palette, harmonious composition, skillful carving and drawing techniques, and the profound messages it conveys about life, folk paintings have contributed to the unique identity of Vietnamese folk art in particular and Vietnamese culture in general.
