On August 18, at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), Quy Nhon Nam Ward, Gia Lai Province, the Vietnam Science Association in collaboration with ICISE officially opened the "Vietnam Summer School on Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing" (VSAIQC).
This is the first international academic event held in Vietnam, marking an important step forward in training and connecting young scientists in the field of pioneering technology.
This year's VSAIQC Summer School brings together nearly 50 scientists, researchers, students and young experts from 10 countries and territories, along with a team of lecturers who are prestigious names in the field of AI and quantum such as: Professor Claude Fabre (Sorbonne University, France); Dr. Nguyen Hai Chau (University of Siegen, Germany); Associate Professor, Dr. Rahul Maitra (Indian Institute of Technology Bombay); Professor Kieu Tien Dung (Swinburne University of Technology, Australia) ...
In particular, the event was honored to have the participation of Mr. Denis Fourmeau, Attaché for Science and Higher Education Cooperation, French Embassy in Vietnam.
In the context of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum Computing becoming the main driving force of the global technological revolution, VSAIQC Summer School is organized to meet the urgent need for training high-quality human resources .
Advances in drug discovery, cryptography, quantum communications, and quantum chemical simulations have demonstrated the profound impact these two fields have on modern life.
VSAIQC's curriculum covers core topics and the latest trends such as quantum mechanics, qubits, quantum gates; Quantum technology: ion traps, photons; Artificial intelligence: NLP, Generative AI, Agentic AI; Quantum algorithms, quantum simulation, quantum chemistry; Practice on Qaptiva, OpenVQE platforms...
In addition to in-depth lectures, students also participate in group projects, practical exercises and presentations of research results. Open discussion sessions between lecturers and students act as a bridge of knowledge, encouraging the exchange of ideas and suggesting new research directions.
VSAIQC Summer School is not only a place to impart knowledge, but also an "intellectual nursery" to help the young generation form critical thinking, the ability to adapt to new technology and connect with international academics.
This is part of the long-term strategy of the Rencontres du Vietnam to build an interdisciplinary scientific ecosystem in Vietnam, especially in the Quy Nhon science city, where nature and intelligence converge.
