Opening Ceremony of Hoa Binh Province Culture and Tourism Week

(CLO) On the evening of November 16th, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Binh province held a ceremony to receive the Certificate of Ranking as a Special National Monument for the archaeological site of Xom Trai Cave and Lang Vanh Rock Shelter, and to inaugurate the 2024 Provincial Culture and Tourism Week.

These two Special National Monuments are typical representatives of archaeological heritage, possessing historical and cultural value spanning thousands of years of the Muong culture of Hoa Binh province.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long stated that improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management in culture is crucial, with particular emphasis on preserving and promoting the heritage values ​​of the "Hoa Binh Culture," the Muong culture, and the cultures of other ethnic groups in the province. Hoa Binh needs to strengthen propaganda and dissemination efforts to raise awareness among all levels, sectors, and the people about cultural development; and closely link culture with sustainable tourism development.

With two Special National Monuments – the Xom Trai Cave archaeological site and the Lang Vanh rock shelter – the province needs appropriate management and protection methods to maximize their value.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long presented the Certificate of Ranking as a Special National Monument for the Xom Trai Cave and Lang Vanh Rock Shelter archaeological site to representatives of the Hoa Binh provincial leadership.

To continue preserving and effectively promoting the value of cultural heritage in general, and the special national archaeological sites of Hang Xom Trai Cave and Mai Da Lang Vanh in particular, and to promote tourism development, making a significant contribution to socio-economic development, the Deputy Prime Minister requested: Hoa Binh province should continue to thoroughly understand the perspective of preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage. Strictly and effectively implement the protection and management of the special national archaeological sites of Hang Xom Trai Cave and Mai Da Lang Vanh in accordance with regulations. Promote and introduce the value of the Muong Hoa Binh cultural heritage and the "Hoa Binh Culture" to the people and international friends; paying particular attention to researching the preparation of a dossier for submission to UNESCO for inscription as a World Heritage site.

The successful organization of the Culture and Tourism Week will contribute to showcasing the beautiful natural landscapes, tourist destinations, and cultural identity of ethnic groups; promoting agricultural products and distinctive local products, thereby honoring and affirming the historical, cultural, and tourism values ​​of Hoa Binh.

At the event, Hoa Binh Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Phi Long stated that the province has identified culture as one of its five strategic breakthroughs and will continue to effectively implement specific tasks and solutions to preserve and promote the value of historical relics in conjunction with tourism development.

The spectacular song and dance performance "Four Muong Regions Showcase Their Beauty" featured a total of over 230 artists and performers.

Along with that, it is necessary to develop tourism products that are attractive in terms of "Peace Culture," so that the heritage will endure and spread, contributing to building an advanced Vietnamese culture, rich in national identity, truly becoming an internal strength and an important driving force for the development of the country and the socio-economic development of the locality in the context of globalization and international integration.

The Hoa Binh Provincial Culture and Tourism Week takes place from November 15-23 with many rich and attractive activities. These include the Fishing Festival and the release of lanterns on the Da River; the 2024 Art Photography Exhibition with the theme "The Beauty of Culture and Tourism in Hoa Binh Province"; visits to tourist attractions in the Hoa Binh Lake tourist area; the Hoa Binh Province Ethnic Costume Festival; the Traditional Rice Wine Festival; the Agriculture Forum with the theme: "Agricultural Extension linked with agricultural tourism, green growth and sustainable development"; the second Da River Fish and Shrimp Festival in 2024; a fishing competition on the Da River and the release of fish to replenish aquatic resources in the Hoa Binh hydroelectric reservoir…

At the opening ceremony, a special art program themed "The Muong Land in Festival" took place, consisting of three parts: The Echoes of the Epic "Giving Birth to the Land and Water," "The Harmony of the Muong Land," and "The Muong Land in Festival," presenting unique, vibrant, and captivating artistic performances, brimming with pride and leaving a deep impression on thousands of local people, domestic and international tourists.

At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long presented the certificate designating Hoa Binh province as a special national historical site.
