Two leading officials of Quang Ninh province expelled from the Party.

TPO - The Central Party Secretariat has disciplined Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Council, and Mr. Diep Van Chien, Head of the Internal Affairs Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, by expelling them from the Party.

On May 26, at the Party Central Headquarters, the Secretariat considered the proposal of the Central Inspection Committee regarding disciplinary action against Party members who had violated regulations.

The Secretariat of the Central Committee found that Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of Quang Ninh province, and Mr. Diep Van Chien - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Internal Affairs Committee of the Provincial Party Committee of Quang Ninh province - had deteriorated in terms of political ideology, morality, and lifestyle.

These two officials also violated Party regulations and State laws in performing their assigned duties and responsibilities, in preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negative practices; they violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility of setting an example, causing very serious consequences, public outrage, and severely affecting the reputation of the Party organization and the agency/unit where they work.

Based on the content, nature, extent, consequences, and causes of the violations; and based on the Party's regulations on disciplining violating Party members, the Secretariat of the Central Committee decided to expel Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh and Mr. Diep Van Chien from the Party.

The Secretariat of the Central Committee requested that relevant agencies promptly and consistently implement administrative disciplinary measures in parallel with Party disciplinary measures.
