Opening of Tan Cang - Moc Bai Inland Port Depot

Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Phung Ngoc Minh, Deputy General Director of Saigon Newport Corporation, said that with its location on the Trans-Asian economic corridor, Moc Bai Border Economic Zone is the largest key land border economic zone in the country, situated on the southern corridor of the Mekong Subregion, connecting Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) with Phnom Penh (capital of the Kingdom of Cambodia) and Bangkok (capital of Thailand). Moc Bai has the potential to become an important transit point connecting the production chain between the Southeast region and the Kingdom of Cambodia, ASEAN, and the international community.

Recognizing the great potential for economic development at border gates, on November 24, 2023, Tan Cang - Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Tan Cang Moc Bai Inland Port. After more than a year of construction, today, phase 1 of the Tan Cang - Moc Bai Inland Port project officially opened and commenced operations, becoming the first centralized customs inspection point in Tay Ninh province to provide a full range of logistics services. This contributes to improving the efficiency of import and export activities, facilitating the flow of goods, developing the border gate economy, and promoting trade between Vietnam and Cambodia, playing a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of the country's import and export supply chains.

**Delegates pressed the button to inaugurate the depot at Tan Cang – Moc Bai inland port.**

On behalf of the Party Committee and the leadership of Saigon Newport Corporation, Colonel Phung Ngoc Minh requested that Tan Cang - Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company continue to strive to complete the infrastructure, apply for a code for a centralized customs inspection location for import and export goods outside the border gate, and announce the dry port in the first quarter of 2025.

**The first container arrives at Tan Cang – Moc Bai Inland Port Depot.**

Mr. Bui Hai Duong, Director of Tan Cang - Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company, said that the Tan Cang - Moc Bai Depot officially opened and commenced operations with an area of over 2 hectares, equipped with modern facilities and an advanced management software system, synchronized with Tan Cang Saigon Corporation.

Tan Cang - Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company will implement comprehensive policies and solutions for customers and shipping lines using services at the depot to connect with factories, industrial parks, export processing zones, and cross-border customers in Cambodia.

In addition, the company will also develop a plan to combine the transportation of goods from the Tan Cang - Moc Bai port cluster to the Cai Mep port cluster and the Ho Chi Minh City area to reduce logistics costs for customers.
