(QNgTV)- Outpatients and patients who receive medical examination and treatment on demand will still be covered by health insurance in different scopes of benefits, instead of having to pay the entire cost themselves as before.

Decree 188 allows health insurance participants to be paid 100% of the benefit level when examining and treating outpatients at basic medical examination and treatment facilities that score less than 50 points or are temporarily classified as basic, except for basic medical examination and treatment facilities that, before January 1, 2025, have been determined by competent authorities to be provincial or central level.

From July 1, 2026, when outpatient examination and treatment at a basic medical examination and treatment facility achieves a score from 50 points to less than 70 points, health insurance participants will be paid 50% of the benefit by the health insurance fund.

Also from this point on, when examining and treating outpatients at basic medical examination and treatment facilities identified as provincial or central level or equivalent to provincial or central level, health insurance participants will be paid 50% of the benefit by the health insurance fund.
