Commencement of Project Area 1 for resettlement to serve land acquisition and clearance of the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis of Dong Son ward

On the morning of August 19, Dong Son Ward, Quang Tri Province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Resettlement Area 1 Project to serve the site clearance (GPMB) of the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis of Dong Son Ward. Attending the ceremony were: Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Chien Thang; Director of the Department of Construction Truong Chi Trung; leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.

Project area 1 resettlement serving land acquisition and compensation The high-speed railway project on the North-South axis of Dong Son ward mainly serves households within the land acquisition and compensation area in Dong Son ward. There are about 125 households with a land area of about 9 hectares and a cultural house located within the land acquisition and compensation area. The project arranges 189 land lots (including 125 resettlement land lots, the remaining 64 lots to accommodate people eligible for land compensation and reserve), with each land lot area ranging from ^180m2 - ^380m2 . The resettlement project area includes resettlement residential land, cultural house land, educational land, public green land, traffic land, parking lot land, other technical infrastructure land... with a scale of 13.5 hectares; Road construction technical infrastructure system includes items: leveling, traffic roads, water supply and fire protection, rainwater drainage, wastewater drainage, electricity supply, lighting and other infrastructure. Project implementation progress: 2025 - 2026; total investment: 230 billion VND.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Chien Thang emphasized: The high-speed railway project on the North-South axis is a key national infrastructure project. For Quang Tri , this project has special significance, contributing to enhancing the province's strategic position on the national and international traffic map.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Chien Thang acknowledged and highly appreciated Dong Son ward and related departments, branches and units for demonstrating a high sense of responsibility, proactiveness, creativity, and urgency in performing assigned tasks, completing a large amount of work in a short time, ensuring conditions for the project to start construction on schedule.

For the project to be successfully implemented, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Chien Thang requested the People's Committee of Dong Son Ward to continue to implement the next steps of the project in accordance with regulations, openly and transparently, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of the people, creating high consensus; relevant departments and branches continue to accompany, actively support, promptly provide professional guidance, remove difficulties and obstacles so that the project can be implemented on schedule and with quality; the people continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, sharing, and accompanying the local government to implement the project, for the goal of building synchronous and modern infrastructure, improving the quality of people's lives.

On this occasion, provincial leaders and delegates pressed the button to start the resettlement area 1 project serving the site clearance of the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis of Dong Son ward.
