General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate and start construction of key projects at the National Exhibition and Fair Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi ). After the ribbon-cutting ceremony and groundbreaking ceremony of key projects, General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates visited the National Exhibition and Fair Center. The National Exhibition and Fair Center is one of 250 key projects and works simultaneously inaugurated and started construction on August 19 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. The project, invested by Vingroup , started construction on August 30, 2024, and was handed over on June 27, 2025 - after only nearly 10 months of construction, 15 months ahead of schedule.
The National Exhibition and Fair Center has a scale of more than 304,000m2 of indoor exhibition area and 200,000m2 of outdoor exhibition area, positioned to become the largest exhibition center complex in Southeast Asia. The highlight of the project is the massive steel dome of the Kim Quy exhibition hall with a height of more than 56m, a diameter of 360m and a mass of up to 24,000 tons. This is the largest steel dome in the world, all steel is produced in Vietnam, designed with inspiration from the Kim Quy divine turtle shell - a symbol associated with the legend of Co Loa. With a huge space, a maximum capacity of up to hundreds of thousands of people outdoors and thousands of people indoors, the National Exhibition and Fair Center not only ensures capacity for large exhibitions but is also ready for large-scale events such as music festivals, national festivals, large-scale technology demonstrations, etc., meeting the most stringent standards from international organizers. From August 28 to September 5, the National Exhibition Center will host the National Achievements Exhibition with the theme "80 Years of the Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness".
The exhibition will introduce and display the outstanding achievements of the country in 80 years of construction and development in various fields, especially key areas such as: industry-technology; investment-trade; agriculture-rural areas; security-defense; foreign affairs; health, education; culture, sports and tourism. Thereby, arousing pride in the glorious historical tradition of the country over the past 80 years to motivate and inspire our nation to enter a new era, an era of rich, civilized and prosperous development. This is also an opportunity to introduce to international friends the 80-year achievements of our country, contributing to promoting the image of a renewed, dynamic, and deeply internationally integrated Vietnam to friends in the region and the world.
