Accordingly, the Department of Construction is allowed to establish a Project to survey and assess the geological and geophysical conditions of the sinkhole area at Km77+730, National Highway 12B; the cost is about 1.4 billion VND. At the same time, the maintenance unit - Hoa Binh Traffic Construction Joint Stock Company is directed to regularly coordinate with the People's Committee of Thuong Coc commune to continue monitoring the development of the sinkhole, have temporary solutions to overcome it, and ensure traffic safety through the area.
Thuong Coc Commune People's Committee and Hoa Binh Traffic Construction Joint Stock Company have coordinated to fill the sinkhole; stretch ropes and warn to ensure safety.
Assign the People's Committee of Thuong Coc commune to propagate to households in Cao hamlet to monitor the subsidence situation in the area, especially residential areas; promptly detect abnormalities, proactively respond temporarily and immediately report to relevant agencies for inspection and proposed handling. Propagate to households not to use water from self-drilled wells in the road safety corridor for about 2-3 months to monitor the impact of pumping water from wells on the development of sinkholes.
Previously, as reported by Phu Tho Newspaper, on July 9, 2025, some dangerous subsidence appeared right next to the edge of National Highway 12B, with a diameter of more than 3m and a depth of more than 1m; part of the edge of the hole ate into the foundation of a house. This route has a high traffic density, especially heavy trucks.
