At 8:00 a.m. on August 19, the National Broadcasting Center (58 Quan Su, Hanoi ) officially welcomed the first thousands of viewers to enter the exhibition space "Returning to the sacred moment".
The event applied virtual reality (VR) technology, allowing the public to directly "travel through time" back to Ba Dinh Square in 1945 - the day President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
The atmosphere inside Hall G, National Broadcasting Center (58 Quan Su, Hanoi) seemed to freeze when the VR glasses were activated, many people could not help but fall silent.
Before their eyes, the image of a large Square appeared, a sea of people happily waving flags, shouting steadfast oaths.
On the podium, Uncle Ho's deep, clear voice resounded: "Vietnam has the right to enjoy freedom and independence..." - words that shook the hearts of our compatriots 80 years ago.
At that moment, many spectators could not hide their emotions. They listened silently, then seemed to blend in with the crowd of the past, chanting in unison the oath to defend the country.
Nguyen Phuong Anh, a third-year student at the Academy of Journalism and Communication, took off her virtual reality glasses and shared: “This is the first time I feel like I am living on the historic day of September 2nd. Before, everything was only through books and pictures, but today I really feel like I am standing in Ba Dinh Square, among a sea of people sharing the same ideals. I feel proud and even more responsible for the country."
For them, this experience is not only about modern technology, but also a bridge connecting the past with the present, helping their descendants understand the value of independence and freedom.
“I was surprised that technology could bring history so close. When I heard Uncle Ho read the Declaration, I suddenly felt goosebumps on my back. Perhaps this is a way for the younger generation like us to feel more clearly the sacrifices of our ancestors. It is not dry like history lessons, but touches the emotions,” said Ms. Huyen Anh, from Ninh Binh .
The event “ Returning to the sacred moment” was organized by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV), open for free on August 19 and 20 at 58 Quan Su, before continuing to serve the public from August 28 to September 5 at the Dong Hoi National Exhibition Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi).
This is an activity within the series of celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and the 80th anniversary of VOV's founding.
“Return to the sacred moment” is not only a new technological product, but also a special cultural and historical event. It helps each person find pride in the past, adding motivation to preserve and promote the indomitable spirit of our ancestors in the journey of building the country today.
