Noi Bai - Tan Son Nhat airport pair in top 5 busiest in the world

Of which, Jeju - Seoul (in Korea) is the most popular route globally, with 13.2 million passengers flying between the two airports in 2024. In second place is the Sapporo - Tokyo Haneda airport pair with 9.2 million passengers; third place also belongs to Japan with the Fukuoka - Tokyo Haneda route with 9 million.

In fourth place is the Noi Bai - Tan Son Nhat airport pair (in Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City) with 8 million passengers. Followed by Melbourne - Sydney (in Australia, 7.2 million passengers); Jeddah - Riyadh (in Saudi Arabia, 6.3 million passengers); Mumbai - Delhi (in India, 5.9 million passengers); Tokyo Haneda - Okinawa (in Japan, 5.6 million passengers). This list surprised many people when China, a country with more than a billion people but with busy routes, was not in the top 5, when Shanghai Hongqiao - Shenzhen and Beijing - Shanghai Hongqiao with 5.3 million passengers, ranked 9th and 10th.
