During the performance, the artists of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra performed classic works by three composers: Louis Spohr, Ludwig van Beethoven and Felix Mendelssohn. These works are imbued with the spirit of European classical music, reflecting the depth of the German and European musical traditions in general.

Louis Spohr opened with his Double Quartet No. 4 in G minor, Op. 136, which showcased the rich musical dialogue between the instrument groups, representing the creative tradition in Hesse. Next, Ludwig van Beethoven performed his Sextet in E-flat major, Op. 81b, a delicate combination of horn and string quartet, creating a sound that was both powerful and delicate. The final piece was Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's Octet in E-flat major, Op. 20, which he composed at the age of 16, combining youthful vigor and masterful compositional technique.
