The Center for Development of Traditional Stage Arts of Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema is invested by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism with the aim of improving the quality of training, moving towards building Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema into a key school in training in the fields of performance and audiovisual. Specifically, the goal of specialized training is to develop traditional Vietnamese stage arts such as: tuong, cheo, cai luong, hat xoan, hat xam, bai choi, etc.
The new 5-storey center, including classrooms, functional rooms, technical rooms, and modern stages and studios, will be a favorable basis to improve the quality of training, especially in the fields of traditional arts, theater, cinema and television. Thereby, the school aims to train high-quality human resources to meet social needs, while improving the quality of artistic products, contributing to the development of Vietnam's cultural industry, serving the spiritual life of the people and affirming the position of the country's culture and arts in the process of international integration.

The inauguration of the project demonstrates the special attention of the Party and State to the cause of culture and arts, especially the training and development of traditional culture of the nation, and is also a testament to the effective cooperation between central ministries, branches, local authorities and construction units.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong said: The project is a strategic step of the Ministry in training at the Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema to preserve, maintain and promote the values of traditional art forms. Putting the project into operation will create a professional training environment with modern facilities and equipment, helping students and young artists to practice creativity and perform in conditions close to reality on the professional stage. In addition, it contributes to preserving intangible cultural heritage, passing on the passion and skills of veteran artisans and artists to the next generations, encouraging research and creation of new works on a traditional basis, helping traditional theater forms adapt to contemporary life and spreading traditional cultural values to domestic and international audiences through international exchange and cooperation performances. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism expects this project to not only serve the training of high-quality human resources for the theater industry but also be a fulcrum for traditional Vietnamese art to continue to live, develop and shine in the flow of modern culture.
The Deputy Minister also requested the investor and management units to continue to complete the remaining items, carefully review the technical system and equipment, develop a periodic maintenance and operation plan to keep the project in the best condition, and promptly implement training, performance, exchange and research plans to maximize the project's functionality, turning this place into a bright spot for training, preserving and spreading traditional performing arts at home and abroad.

I believe that the team of artists and students of the school will be pioneers in creating, preserving and spreading the values of national art, both absorbing the quintessence of humanity and enriching the identity of Vietnam. Each work, each performance, each class at this Center will contribute to nurturing the soul, enhancing aesthetics and arousing cultural pride in generations" - Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong emphasized.

As the project investor, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang - Deputy Director of the Construction Investment Project Management Board believes that the project will operate sustainably, contribute positively to the development of the industry and meet the expectations of the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In addition, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang said that after the project is officially inaugurated and put into use, the Construction Investment Project Management Board commits to continue to closely coordinate with relevant units to hand over all documents to the school; at the same time, provide technical support, warranty, and maintenance of the project to promptly handle related issues, ensuring the Center operates effectively.
