
Attending the conference were representatives from the Exhibition Department of the Yunnan Provincial Trade Promotion Association and the Honghe Prefecture Commerce Bureau, Yunnan Province (China).
On the Vietnamese side, the leaders included representatives from the Departments of Finance, Industry and Trade, Foreign Affairs, and the Office of the People's Committee of Lao Cai province; and the Provincial Center for Investment Promotion, Trade and Business Support.
The conference was also attended by more than 40 businesses from both Vietnam and China.
At the conference, the leaders of the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Finance introduced Lao Cai province (after the merger) and its system of border gates; the potential, strengths, economic and trade aspects of the province; and information about the 25th Vietnam-China International Trade Fair (Lao Cai) in 2025. They also answered questions related to the fair and the support provided to businesses in Lao Cai province and Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China; and facilitated meetings between Chinese businesses and representatives of local governments and Vietnamese businesses to learn about import-export mechanisms and policies, and cooperation in import-export between the two sides.
In addition, Vietnamese businesses introduced and promoted Vietnam's export-oriented products; and exchanged ideas and discussed business cooperation opportunities with Chinese businesses.

Over the past period, Lao Cai province (Vietnam) and the authorities at all levels of Yunnan province (China) have strengthened exchanges and cooperation to resolve difficulties for businesses; jointly sought solutions to promote trade cooperation between the two sides, contributing to the stable, healthy, balanced, and sustainable development of economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and China; ensuring that customs clearance and the supply chain of goods through border gates are maintained stably, smoothly, and conveniently; and strengthening cooperation and information sharing in the fields of customs clearance at border gates, traceability, border trade, and goods market development...
To promote the import and export of agricultural products, fruits, and seafood, Lao Cai province is committed to creating all favorable conditions regarding: infrastructure at border gates, administrative procedures, and import-export support services; regularly organizing conferences and trade programs to connect businesspeople from Vietnam and China; and promptly working with relevant agencies of Yunnan province (China) to resolve difficulties and obstacles in import-export activities.
The 25th Vietnam-China International Trade Fair (Lao Cai) in 2025 is of significant and practical importance in promoting economic, trade, and tourism cooperation between Lao Cai province in particular, and Vietnam in general, with Yunnan province and the Southwest region of China. It will contribute to increasing the value of import and export goods through the Lao Cai border gate; and gradually build Lao Cai into an important gateway and a center connecting economic trade between Vietnam and ASEAN countries with the Southwest region of China.
