
The Vietnam-China International Trade Fair, held annually on a rotating basis between Lao Cai province (Vietnam) and Yunnan province (China), is a large-scale economic forum with the participation of domestic and international businesses.
Alongside the event, numerous networking and investment promotion activities were implemented, facilitating the signing of many cooperation agreements between businesses of the two countries.
This year's fair, themed " Lao Cai and Yunnan - Connecting and Developing," is scheduled to take place at the end of November at the Kim Thanh Exhibition Center, Lao Cai Ward.

At the meeting, the Organizing Committee approved the progress of preparations, the detailed script, the organizational plan, the regulations for managing the fair, and assigned tasks to its members.
To date, the Department of Finance has completed 10 out of 31 tasks, ensuring that the set schedule is met.
The Department of Industry and Trade is currently finalizing with the Chinese side the content of a letter inviting the Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province to attend the Economic and Trade Cooperation Dialogue between Lao Cai (Vietnam) and Yunnan (China) provinces in Lao Cai during the trade fair; to provide input on the draft master plan and management regulations; and to participate in the dialogue and trade promotion delegation at the trade fair in Yunnan and Zhejiang provinces, China.
The Department of Foreign Affairs handled entry and exit procedures for delegations. The Department of Construction assigned tasks to its functional departments and passenger transport businesses using taxis and contract vehicles to adequately serve the transportation needs of the people and ensure traffic order and safety during the fair...

In the coming period, the Department of Finance will continue to advise the Provincial People's Committee on issuing a plan to organize a conference introducing import-export policies and mechanisms combined with business trade between Vietnam and China; organize the second round of talks (expected to be completed on September 18-19, 2025); continue to receive registrations for booth participation (until October 31, 2025); finalize the overall layout and fair design; and prepare the contents related to bidding for decoration, booth setup, and promotional activities.
The Department of Industry and Trade will take the lead in developing a plan and implementing the Economic and Trade Cooperation Dialogue between Lao Cai Province (Vietnam) and Yunnan Province (China), and report it to the Provincial People's Committee for approval before October 15, 2025.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Sinh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Fair Organizing Committee - highly appreciated the preparatory spirit of the member departments; and at the same time requested the members to proactively develop plans and research each field to coordinate effectively.
The comrade noted that the tasks that need to be implemented soon are: stepping up propaganda through the media and verifying and censoring information.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Sinh requested the Department of Finance to incorporate all opinions from the Organizing Committee members; to finalize the scenarios and develop detailed plans for each task as soon as possible. Regarding the site layout, adjustments are needed to ensure a reasonable and balanced arrangement, and to guarantee fire safety.
Regarding the renovation plan for the Kim Thanh Exhibition Center, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee instructed relevant departments to prepare funding and organize a bidding process as soon as possible. Other activities such as discussions, inviting provinces to participate in the fair, and cultural performances need to be carefully prepared; the quality of goods at the fair must be ensured.
Based on the assigned tasks, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the working groups meet in early October to finalize the plan.
