Following the merger, in addition to increased space for economic and cultural development, the new Dong Nai province also has advantages in tourism development. This includes developing and exploiting tourism products related to the border region with experiences such as: paying respects at border markers; listening to border guards introduce the border area and their mission to protect the border; visiting revolutionary historical sites near the border…
Sacred border markers
Dong Nai province currently shares a 258.939km border with Cambodia, marked by 28 main border markers and 353 auxiliary markers, spanning eight border communes: Bu Gia Map, Dak O, Hung Phuoc, Thien Hung, Tan Tien, Loc Tan, Loc Thanh, and Loc Thanh. Some of these markers are located within the Bu Gia Map National Park, as well as in adjacent areas, offering potential for developing tourism products related to historical sites and commemorating the border markers. The markers consist of two parts: the marker body and the base. The base is made of reinforced concrete, covering an area of 9m² and a depth of 3m. The marker body is made of a single block of granite, inscribed with the marker number and the year of commencement (2007).
Milestone 62 (2) in Bu Gia Map National Park is located in Dak O commune and is managed by Dak O Border Guard Station. This is one of the milestones that many tourists come to visit and perform the ceremony of greeting the milestone. According to the guidance of the officers of Dak O Border Guard Station, right behind milestone 62 is the Dak Huyt river and the deepest point of this river is the border between the two countries Vietnam - Cambodia.

Affirming to visitors who came to pay respects at the border marker, representatives of the officers and soldiers of the Dak O Border Guard Station pledged to always remain united, excellently fulfill their duties, and firmly protect national sovereignty and border security.

Being close to the national border for the first time, seeing the border markers and performing the ceremony of saluting them, Ms. Tran Thi Hoa was very moved, mixed with pride in the national sovereignty that is always protected.
Ms. Hoa shared: "Standing before the border marker, I felt even more strongly my love for my homeland, my national pride, and my admiration for the soldiers who work day and night to protect the border."
Born in the 2000s, Ms. Tran Ngoc Thao (residing in Tran Bien ward, Dong Nai province) shared the same feeling: Standing before the border marker, she clearly understood the significance of every inch of sacred land that our ancestors had preserved. Performing the ritual of saluting the border marker and listening to the border guard's explanation of its meaning, as well as the explanation of its structure and geographical location, helps the younger generation better understand the importance of preserving and protecting the nation's borders.
The sacred activities taking place at the border marker have left a lasting impression on visitors. Through these activities, they have awakened love for the homeland and a sense of responsibility in the younger generation in the cause of building and protecting the nation.
"I feel proud and moved to visit this landmark. Through this tour, I have become more aware of the responsibility of the younger generation in preserving and protecting national sovereignty, while also contributing to maintaining and building friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia," Ms. Thao shared.
