On the morning of December 13th, the Seed and Ornamental Plant Center, Branch 2 (Vinh Thanh commune, Vinh Long province) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the upgrade project of the Seed and Ornamental Plant Center.

The project has a total investment of 30 billion VND from the state budget in the medium-term public investment plan; it is classified as an agricultural and rural development project, group C, level III. The investment scale includes the renovation and expansion of the administrative building; the construction of a greenhouse for disease-free citrus mother plants; a greenhouse for tissue-cultured seedlings; a seed testing and disease identification laboratory; and infrastructure and equipment for research and seed production.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Lam Van Tan, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vinh Long province, requested the investor, consulting unit, and contractor to organize construction according to schedule, ensuring quality, technical standards, and aesthetics of the project, and to use capital effectively. Upon completion, the project will contribute to improving the research, production, and supply capacity of high-quality plant and ornamental flower varieties, serving the restructuring of the agricultural sector towards modernization and sustainability.
