The foundation lies in the strength of national unity.

On July 1, 2025, Phu Dong commune was officially established on a large scale, with a natural area of 41.6 km² and a population of 111,480 people. The two-tiered local government model came into operation with the challenge of not only reorganizing the administrative apparatus, but also how to further strengthen national unity – the foundation of social strength – especially in the effort to maintain sustainable poverty eradication.

Although only restructured since July 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Dong commune has closely followed the leadership and guidance of the commune Party Committee and higher levels, implementing a comprehensive action program, taking the city's work theme as its guiding principle: "Promoting the strength of the great national unity, strengthening discipline, responsibility, action, and creativity to build and develop the Capital." In particular, the work of maintaining poverty eradication and ensuring social security has always been a task persistently carried out by the Phu Dong commune Fatherland Front Committee, especially in the context of a newly established administrative unit needing to consolidate trust and unity among the people.

Unity is also demonstrated in its collaboration with other religions. The Fatherland Front of the commune has maintained close relationships with Buddhist, Catholic, and Protestant leaders. During sermons and religious ceremonies, abbots and priests have actively encouraged Buddhists and believers to live "good lives and uphold moral values," participate in building a civilized lifestyle, conduct weddings and funerals properly, and maintain order and security. The Catholic model of "Peaceful Parish - Safe Family" has been effectively maintained, promoting the "four no's": no violations of the law, no social vices, no prolonged conflicts, and no violations of construction regulations and the environment, making a significant contribution to the overall stability of the locality.

Upholding the tradition of "mutual support and compassion," the Fatherland Front of the commune has strongly encouraged the joint efforts of all officials, members, and people. The total amount of money raised for social welfare activities in 2025 reached over 5.3 billion VND, exceeding all set targets. The "For the Poor" Fund alone reached 1.67 billion VND, creating abundant resources to care for disadvantaged groups.

According to Nguyen Duc The, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Dong commune, this charitable fund has been allocated transparently and promptly by the commune's Fatherland Front, reaching each needy family in need of care and assistance. Specifically, in implementing the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, the commune's Fatherland Front has supported the construction and repair of four "Great Solidarity" houses for households in particularly difficult circumstances, with a total cost of 240 million VND. Among them, the joy was overwhelming for the families of Ms. Nguyen Thi Mui in Dong Xa village and Mr. Le Van Kien in Te Xuyen village, who received financial support to build new, sturdy houses, ending their days of anxiety every time the rainy season arrived. These four new homes have become symbols of the community's care.

In addition, the Fatherland Front of the commune organized the distribution of 300 gifts worth 175.8 million VND on the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day, demonstrating the principle of "Drinking water, remembering the source"; donated 100 million VND to the Fund for the Poor of Hanoi City; and distributed 765 gifts, including: 280 gifts worth 126 million VND at the Great Unity Festival in residential villages, 35 gifts during the Month of Action for the Poor, and over 450 gifts for near-poor households, bringing the warmth of human kindness to every alley and hamlet.

The work of caring for poor students and students with particularly difficult circumstances has also received special attention from the Fatherland Front and organizations, associations, and units in Phu Dong commune. 289 gifts have been given to students in 31 schools in Phu Dong commune, with a total value of 452.95 million VND.

Furthermore, the spirit of "mutual support and compassion" in Phu Dong is not limited to the local area. In the face of natural disasters, storms, and floods causing severe damage in the central and Tây Nguyên (Central Highlands) provinces, the Fatherland Front of the commune promptly launched fundraising campaigns to share the difficulties with people nationwide.

The response from agencies, units, schools, organizations, officials, Party members, and the people of Phu Dong commune is truly a record, a clear testament to social responsibility. In the first phase of supporting people affected by Typhoon No. 10, the commune raised over 1.081 billion VND in cash and 30 tons of goods worth 450 million VND; in the second phase, it raised 2.6 billion VND, along with blankets, clothes, school supplies, and other necessities worth 613.655 million VND. In just two fundraising campaigns, the Fatherland Front of the commune received money and goods worth over 4.1 billion VND, contributing to sharing the burden with people nationwide and demonstrating a new Phu Dong that is not only strong economically but also deeply compassionate.

Creating sustainable livelihoods from preferential capital sources.

While emergency assistance provides immediate warmth, creating sustainable livelihoods is key to long-term poverty alleviation. In Phu Dong commune, the Fatherland Front Committee and other socio- political organizations have clearly defined their role as "bridges for capital," helping people access financial resources for economic transformation.

Acting as a bridge, the Fatherland Front of the commune has closely coordinated with the Social Policy Bank and the Farmers' Support Fund to create favorable conditions for people to borrow preferential capital to develop production. As a result, 3,214 households have borrowed 229.119 billion VND from the Social Policy Bank, and 235 households have borrowed a total of 10.9 billion VND from the Farmers' Support Fund at all levels. Over 240 billion VND has become capital, means of production, and an opportunity to change the lives of thousands of families.

The people of Phù Đổng have actively transformed their crop and livestock structures, boldly investing in potential areas, expanding scale, and applying advanced science, technology, and techniques to production. Particularly noteworthy are the specialized bougainvillea cultivation areas in Phù Đổng and Trung Mầu, covering a total of 80 hectares; the pomelo growing areas in Dương Hà; the clean vegetable growing areas in Yên Viên and Yên Thường; and the high-value fruit tree growing areas. Many households have invested in greenhouse systems and automatic irrigation systems, generating estimated revenue of 600 million to over 1 billion VND per hectare per year. Thanks to policy-based funding, hundreds of households have overcome difficulties and achieved a comfortable standard of living.

Providing preferential loans through the Fatherland Front and other mass organizations is not just about lending, but also about monitoring and guiding the effective use of capital. Member organizations have organized training sessions and transferred scientific and technical knowledge, ensuring that every penny of capital is used for the right purpose and generates profit.

Party Secretary and Chairwoman of the People's Council of Phu Dong commune, Dang Thi Huyen, affirmed: Thanks to the synchronized and decisive efforts of the Fatherland Front and its member organizations, the commune achieved outstanding results in 2025, contributing to maintaining sustainable poverty eradication and consolidating a solid economic foundation for a newly established commune. Phu Dong - a land associated with the legend of Saint Giong - the spirit of unity, overcoming challenges to rise up and take control of life is being continued by the entire political system and people of the commune through concrete actions. In this, the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Phu Dong commune has created a bright picture of sustainable poverty eradication.

The success of the Fatherland Front in Phu Dong commune also demonstrates that: unity, transparency in the use of funds, and the ability to connect resources to create livelihoods are the most powerful "multiplication factors." Here, the will of the Party and the aspirations of the people have blended together, creating a combined strength to build a new Phu Dong, worthy of its position as a key area of the Capital in the new era.

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Dong commune, Nguyen Duc The, further informed: Entering 2026, the Fatherland Front of the commune will continue to work together with the local authorities to maintain sustainable poverty eradication and aim towards building a "green, civilized, and modern Phu Dong commune".
