Second Congress of the Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs and Former Military Personnel of Son La Province, term 2025-2030

On December 14th, the Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs and Former Military Personnel of Son La province held its 2nd Congress for the 2025-2030 term. Attending the Congress were leaders from the Vietnam Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs; the Provincial Veterans Association; and the Veteran Entrepreneurs Associations of Hanoi, Phu Tho, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Hung Yen, and other provinces and cities, along with 168 delegates representing members throughout the province.

The Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs and Former Military Personnel of Son La Province was established according to Decision No. 1234/QD-UBND dated June 17, 2020, of the People's Committee of Son La Province. It is a socio-professional organization operating under its Charter approved by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La Province and other relevant legal regulations. To date, the Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs and Former Military Personnel of Son La Province has six branches: Moc Chau, Yen Chau, Mai Son, Son La Provincial Center, Muong La, and Song Ma.

During the past term, upholding the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers," enterprises and cooperatives owned by veterans and former soldiers have flexibly adapted and maintained effective production and business. Total revenue reached approximately 4,500 billion VND, contributing 120 billion VND to the state budget and creating regular jobs for nearly 1,300 workers. Many units are exemplary in production and business, making significant contributions to the budget, such as: Kim Son Construction and Trading Company Limited; Son Hung Company Limited; Mai Son Veterans Association Cooperative; Le Cong Long Enterprise... In addition, farm and household economic models in the Yen Chau, Moc Chau, and Song Ma areas have also yielded high efficiency with profits ranging from 50 to over 200 million VND per year.

Alongside economic development, the Association actively participates in social welfare activities, with a total donation and support amount exceeding 1.25 billion VND; contributing to the elimination of temporary housing; and carrying out many practical activities such as: providing lifelong sponsorship to one Heroic Vietnamese Mother and one widow of a fallen soldier; visiting and giving gifts to families entitled to preferential policies; supporting the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic; and helping poor students overcome difficulties.
With the motto "Unity, discipline, camaraderie, cooperation for mutual development," during the 2025-2030 term, the Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs and Former Military Personnel strives to achieve annual revenue of 1,500 billion VND or more, average employee income of 5.5-8 million VND/person/month, and full implementation of all insurance benefits as prescribed. Emphasis will be placed on strengthening the association's organization, enhancing the competitiveness of member businesses, and continuing to contribute to socio-economic development and the strengthening of local defense and security.

The congress elected 23 comrades to the Executive Committee of the Provincial Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs and Former Military Personnel for the term 2025-2030.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Association of Businesspeople and Veterans awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 collectives and 6 individuals; the Provincial Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs and Former Soldiers awarded Certificates of Merit to 7 individuals for their outstanding achievements in business production and association building work during the 2020-2025 period.

The Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs and Former Military Personnel of the province awarded Certificates of Commendation to individuals.
