On August 4 and 5, children will be screened, receive professional advice, and be assessed for surgery or rehabilitation support. For children who have been screened in the previous round (from April 20 to 25), their families will participate in a consultation with experts, receive support equipment (if any) and undergo surgery according to the advised schedule.
Types of disabilities that are examined and treated during this period include: Facial deformities (cleft lip, cleft palate, torn lip, nasal defect, syndactyly, tumors/pigmented birthmarks...); motor system (limb deformities, scoliosis, chest cavity, osteomyelitis, fibrosis...); post-burn sequelae (contracture scars affecting body functions); eye deformities (strabismus, ptosis, cataracts...); genital-anal deformities (inguinal hernia, hydrocele, phimosis, hypospadias, megacolon, vaginal membrane adhesions...); ear-nose-throat deformities (ear deformities, hearing loss due to inflammation...); other benign tumors...
The free screening and surgery program for disabled children aged 0-16 in Quang Tri province in 2025 was organized by Center II - a unit under the Vietnam Association for the Relief of Disabled Children in coordination with HNVN-CBDH Hospital, with the main sponsorship from Thien Tam Fund under Vingroup Corporation. In 2022, 2023, 2024 and phase 1 in 2025 (from April 20 to 25), the program was successfully implemented in the former Quang Binh province.
This time, the program has the participation of plastic surgery experts from leading hospitals such as: Bach Mai, Viet Duc, Central Eye Hospital, Xanh Pon, Hanoi Medical University, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy...
