According to the reporter's records, along major roads in the central area of Da Nang City, many traffic signs still show the addresses of localities that have merged and changed the names of administrative units.
Many old place names have not been edited
Specifically, on Cach Mang Thang 8 Street, there is still a sign with an arrow "Hoa Vang district". While Hoa Vang district has been arranged into 3 communes: Hoa Tien, Hoa Vang and Ba Na.
Signpost to the Administrative Center of Hoa Vang District on National Highway 1A, although the district has been divided into the communes of Hoa Tien, Hoa Vang, and Ba Na.
On National Highway 14B around Hoa Cam overpass, the signs around this area still show the direction " Quang Nam " and "Quang Nam province". Meanwhile, since July 1, Quang Nam and Da Nang City have merged into a new administrative unit called Da Nang City.
Meanwhile, along National Highway 1A passing through Da Nang, many signs indicating administrative boundaries have not been changed.
The fact that the signs have not changed in the context of many changes in local administrative units after the merger has caused some confusion for traffic participants. For example, the sign in the area of Cach Mang Thang 8 Street, indicating the direction to Quang Nam, still includes the information "passenger buses do not have a fixed route to Da Nang, trucks do not pick up and drop off goods in Da Nang", causing some "new drivers" to be confused about the content of the sign when Da Nang and Quang Nam are one.
The sign on National Highway 14B still has the place name "Quang Nam province"

Complete traffic sign adjustment before July 15
Previously, the Department of Roads ( Ministry of Construction ) issued a document requesting the implementation of updating and adjusting road sign information in accordance with provincial and commune-level administrative units after the arrangement and merger.
The delay in changing traffic signs has caused some confusion for drivers.
Accordingly, the Department of Roads requires localities to adjust information and locations of "Boundary indication" signs to indicate administrative boundaries in accordance with the administrative boundaries of provinces, centrally-run cities and other administrative units after the arrangement and merger. The request must be completed before July 15, 2025.
Regarding this issue, the leader of the Department of Construction of Da Nang City said that they are reviewing the entire system of signs for people in the area, trying to complete the adjustment in July.
The merger with Quang Nam has resulted in a large number of signs, so it will take time for units and localities to agree on new directional signs on road signs, directions, and exits to replace the names that are no longer available due to the merger, arrangement, and change of administrative unit names. At the same time, the Department of Construction will also check to adjust the distance instructions to match the new directional signs.
