
In terms of market size, China and South Korea continue to be the two largest markets sending visitors. Tourists from both markets contributed nearly half of the total number of international visitors to Vietnam in the past 9 months.
Accordingly, China ranked first with 3.9 million arrivals, accounting for 25.2% of the total number of visitors to Vietnam. The second position belonged to the Korean market with 3.2 million arrivals, accounting for 21% of the total number of visitors to Vietnam.
In addition, Taiwan (China) is the third largest sending market with 926 thousand arrivals, the United States ranks fourth with 623 thousand arrivals and Japan ranks fifth with 618 thousand arrivals.
Among the 10 countries with the largest number of tourists to Vietnam are markets such as: India with 505 thousand arrivals, Cambodia with 490 thousand arrivals, Russia with 435 thousand arrivals, Malaysia with 405 thousand arrivals and Australia with 401 thousand arrivals.
Notably, India rose to 6th place in the top 10 markets sending tourists to Vietnam. Meanwhile, Russia continues to be the largest market sending tourists in the European region.
In terms of growth drivers, the growth drivers of the international tourist market are from Europe (up 34.9%), Asia (up 20.9%), Australia (up 13.7%), America (up 8.5%) and Africa (up 4.7%).
Some major markets in Asia recorded high growth rates. Notably, China increased by 43.9%, India increased by 42.9% and Japan increased by 17.1%. In particular, the Southeast Asia region recorded good growth rates, including the Philippines increased by 92.2%, Cambodia increased by 50.4%, Laos increased by 32.8%, Indonesia increased by 14.2%, Malaysia increased by 13.7%...
European markets saw strong growth. In particular, the Russian market continued to grow rapidly, increasing by 173%.
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said that this growth comes from the positive impacts of the visa exemption policy and the effectiveness in implementing tourism promotion programs in Russia by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as well as from the efforts of localities and businesses in recent times.
Besides, many markets in Europe also maintained stable growth such as: Poland increased by 46%; France increased by 22.6%; Italy increased by 22.3%; UK increased by 21.7%; Netherlands increased by 18.3%; Belgium increased by 17.9%; Germany increased by 17.5%; Sweden increased by 17%...
Recently, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has successfully implemented a series of programs to promote Vietnam tourism in many countries such as Russia, Japan, Italy, Korea, etc. Along with the open visa policy, the tourism industry expects the number of international visitors to Vietnam to continue to grow in the fourth quarter of 2025, contributing to the completion of the goal of welcoming about 25 million international visitors as previously planned.
