Son Hiep Health Station (Khanh Son Commune) is managing and providing health care for about 150 elderly people in 4 villages: Lien Hiep, Xa Boi, Hon Dung, Ta Gu. Every year, the station develops a plan to organize regular check-ups, consultation, screening and treatment of common diseases for the elderly such as: Blood pressure, diabetes, bones and joints... For those who cannot come to the station for check-ups due to old age, being bedridden or being far away from the area, the station assigns medical staff to go to their homes to measure blood pressure, dispense medicine, and ensure that treatment is maintained regularly.

According to Ms. Ho Thi Minh - Deputy Head of Son Hiep Health Station, the station has made a specific list of the number of elderly people in the area and built an annual health care plan for the elderly. The station's doctors and nurses always encourage the elderly to come for timely examination and treatment, and take medicine regularly. With the propaganda of medical staff, Mr. Cao Thanh Binh (Hon Dung village) often comes to the station for periodic health check-ups. Mr. Binh said: "Through examination, I discovered that I have diabetes, high blood pressure, fatty liver, arthritis, blurred vision and received timely advice and treatment. Seeing the benefits of periodic health check-ups, I encourage the elderly in the locality to go for regular health check-ups to prevent and treat diseases better."

In the area of 3 communes: Khanh Son, Tay Khanh Son and Dong Khanh Son, there are more than 1,900 elderly people participating in 31 elderly association branches. Recently, the local Elderly Association has coordinated with units to mobilize and propagate elderly people to have regular health check-ups; participate in health exercises to improve health; organize free eye examinations for 200 to 300 people/year...

Media and consulting organization

Every year, Khanh Son Regional Medical Center coordinates with local authorities and units to organize periodic health check-ups, nutrition counseling, physical training, and disease prevention for the elderly. The center directs health stations to conduct monthly health check-ups for the elderly in each locality. Each year, the center organizes 2 communication campaigns to disseminate knowledge about health care for 600 to 700 people/session. The propaganda content revolves around issues such as: Recognizing one's health status; forms of exercise to improve the health and psychology of the elderly; principles to ensure good sleep; nutritional regimen for the elderly; prevention of cerebrovascular accidents, some common diseases in the elderly... In particular, 100% of the elderly in poor households have been granted health insurance cards, so health care is guaranteed.

Ms. Mau Thi Khuyet - Deputy Head of the Department of Population - Communication and Health Education , Khanh Son Regional Medical Center said that in the first 9 months of 2025, the center coordinated with units to organize 8 communication classes combined with health check-ups for more than 1,200 elderly people; established health monitoring records for more than 2,200 elderly people. In addition, it coordinated with families to take care of the health of elderly people in the community; visited, gave gifts, and encouraged elderly people on the occasion of the Action Month for the Elderly in Vietnam (October). Thereby, the elderly in the area not only received attention and attentive care, but also had the opportunity to promote their role in their families and society. In the coming time, the center will continue to promote propaganda so that the elderly can proactively come to medical facilities for regular health check-ups; organize screening sessions at health stations, communities and families for the elderly.
