The People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province has just issued a document directing the implementation of key tasks and solutions for public asset management in 2026, emphasizing the requirement to practice thrift, combat waste, and improve the efficiency of exploiting public asset resources.
The aforementioned document aims to implement Prime Minister's Directive No. 19/CD-TTg dated February 26, 2026, on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the arrangement, handling, and exploitation of public assets, and the guidance of the Ministry of Finance .
According to the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, departments, agencies, and localities must continue to fully implement the Party and State's policies and regulations on the management and use of public assets in conjunction with the prevention and fight against corruption and negative practices. The focus is on comprehensively reviewing asset management, promptly identifying and addressing shortcomings and inadequacies, especially the misuse, inefficiency, or wastefulness of assets.
Notably, the Provincial People's Committee requested the decisive handling of surplus assets that are no longer needed; at the same time, it called for rectifying the situation of illegal leasing, lending, joint ventures, or partnerships, or preventing encroachment and disputes. The management of public assets must ensure economy, efficiency, and prevent loss and waste – a consistent requirement in this directive.

The Khánh Hòa Provincial Radio and Television Station headquarters is left abandoned.
During the organizational restructuring process, units must arrange and handle their offices and land in accordance with regulations. For properties transferred from central agencies, the handover and acceptance must be completed within 30 days. In case of delay, the relevant party shall be responsible for paying the costs of managing and preserving the assets and shall not use state budget funds to compensate for the delay.
In addition, the Provincial People's Committee requested a review of the use of official vehicles, machinery, and equipment according to standards and norms. Assets that are still usable but surplus must be transferred to other units; damaged or no longer needed assets must be liquidated promptly and the proceeds deposited into the state budget as prescribed.
For infrastructure assets invested by the State, relevant agencies must organize the statistical analysis, classification, and assignment of specific management units, ensuring that all assets are closely monitored and managed. Exploitation must maximize investment efficiency and avoid waste and loss of resources.

The former Nha Trang Vocational College has also been abandoned for nearly 10 years while a new BT (Build-Transfer) project for a new school was implemented in Phuoc Dong commune (formerly).
The Provincial People's Committee also instructed relevant agencies to strengthen inspection, examination, and supervision of the management and use of public assets, especially for properties and land showing signs of wastefulness. Violations will be strictly handled according to the law.
In addition, efforts to disseminate legal information and provide professional training are required to enhance the capacity of officials and civil servants in managing public assets, especially at the grassroots level.
The synchronized implementation of the above solutions is expected to contribute to tightening discipline, reducing waste, improving the efficiency of public asset utilization, and thereby creating additional resources to serve the socio -economic development of Khanh Hoa province in the new period.
