In Quang Tri province, the memorial site for former Minister of National Defense Doan Khue, located in Trieu Lang commune, Trieu Phong district, covers an area of 7,500 square meters and was inaugurated on October 26th.
The inauguration ceremony was organized by the Ministry of National Defense in coordination with Quang Tri province, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the General's birth (October 29, 1923).
Construction began in July and was completed after three months.

The memorial site was built on the land of the general's family, with a total cost of 9 billion VND from funding provided by the Ministry of National Defense, local funds, and contributions from relatives. The house is built in the traditional style of the Central region, with three main rooms, two side wings, and a courtyard. Inside, it displays images, documents, and mementos associated with the general's military career.
Mr. Tran Xuan Anh, Secretary of Trieu Phong District, said that the memorial site fulfills the aspirations of the people and serves as a significant location for educating the younger generation about the heroic revolutionary traditions.

General Đoàn Khuê was a former member of the Politburo, former Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and former Minister of National Defense. His pseudonym was Võ Tiến Trình, and he was born on October 29, 1923, in Gia Đẳng village, Triệu Tân commune (now Triệu Lăng commune), Triệu Phong district.
During the resistance wars against France and the United States, he fought and commanded in the Zone 5 battlefield, famous for battles and campaigns in history such as Nui Thanh, Ba Gia, Van Tuong, Plei Me, and Dong Duong. After the country was unified, he was appointed Deputy Minister of National Defense and Commander of the 719 Command, and Head of the leadership of the expert delegation performing international duties in Cambodia.
From 1987 to 1991, he served as Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army. From 1991 to 1997, he was a member of the Politburo and Minister of National Defense.
The General passed away on January 16, 1999, in Hanoi and was buried in Mai Dich Cemetery.
