Veterans commended for bravely saving people from drowning.

On the afternoon of April 10th, the People's Committee of Tien Yen commune held an awards ceremony to commend Mr. La Van Kien, a member of the Veterans Association branch in Tenh Po village, for his courageous act of saving a person from drowning.

Earlier, at around 4:15 PM on April 8th, at the overflow bridge area in Dong Dinh village, Tien Yen commune, TTA, born in 2014, residing in Phac Tha hamlet, Dong Dinh village, was swimming with a friend when she unfortunately drowned. At that time, Mr. La Van Kien, who was swimming nearby, without hesitation, jumped into the fast-flowing water, quickly reached TTA, and brought her safely to shore.

Comrade Nguyen Cao Khai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune, presented an impromptu commendation to Mr. La Van Kien for his courageous act of saving a person from drowning.

Mr. La Van Kien's courageous, responsible, and compassionate actions serve as a shining example of "good people, good deeds," clearly demonstrating the tradition of solidarity, loyalty, and willingness to help others in times of need.

Following Mr. La Van Kien's courageous act, Comrade Nguyen Cao Khai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Tien Yen commune, decided to award him a special commendation, praising his bravery and sense of responsibility towards the community. He also requested that all levels and sectors spread the word about Mr. La Van Kien's courageous and humane actions to the wider community.
