On the morning of September 4, representatives of the local government of Ea Wer commune, Dak Lak province, unexpectedly rewarded the forces participating in the search for victims in the tragic drowning incident that occurred on September 2 at Crocodile Lake (also known as Da Xanh Lake) in the commune.
In order to promptly commend and acknowledge the efforts of the forces participating in the search for the victims of the tragic drowning incident that occurred on September 2 at Crocodile Lake, on the morning of September 4, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Wer Commune, Nguyen Huu Truyen, went directly to the scene at Crocodile Lake to encourage and give special rewards to the groups participating in the search and rescue. Over the past three days, the Ea Wer Commune Police, militia, police officers from villages in the commune and officers and soldiers of the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department, Dak Lak Provincial Police have worked hard to stay up all night to participate in the search and rescue work of the tragic drowning incident that occurred here.
At the scene of the incident, Comrade Nguyen Huu Truyen sent condolences to the victims' families, and praised the sense of responsibility and effective coordination of the forces participating in the search and rescue. Comrade Nguyen Huu Truyen presented the Certificate of Merit of the Commune People's Committee to the forces participating in the search and rescue work.
As reported by Nhan Dan Newspaper, on September 2, a group of young people in Buon Ma Thuot Ward, Dak Lak Province invited each other to Crocodile Lake, Ea Wer Commune to have fun. At around 3 p.m. the same day, one of the young people in the group unfortunately fell into the lake. Seeing this, two people who were with him jumped in to rescue him, but unfortunately all three went missing in the deep lake.
Immediately after receiving the news, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department, Dak Lak Provincial Police mobilized vehicles and forces to the scene to coordinate with local authorities to carry out rescue work. By 6:00 p.m. on September 2, authorities had found one victim and continued searching. By the morning of September 4, authorities had recovered the bodies of the remaining two victims and handed them over to their families for funeral arrangements.
The above incident is a warning about the risk of drowning accidents during the rainy season, especially in lakes and streams. The People's Committee of Ea Wer commune recommends that people be extremely vigilant and raise their awareness of safety to ensure their lives when participating in activities near water, especially during the rainy season.
