What the people are happy about is not only that a technical solution is being implemented, but also that the difficulties and concerns of the people have finally been addressed and resolved.
Previously, during the implementation of the Cho Goc urban area project, land leveling affected the flood drainage on National Highway 19, causing prolonged flooding of many rice fields belonging to local residents, even during the dry season. As a result, 53 households with more than 5.8 hectares of agricultural land were unable to sow their summer-autumn crops.

For farmers, a delayed or failed rice crop is not only an economic loss but also brings with it many worries in their daily lives.
All the hard work in preparing seeds, tilling the land, and sowing is at risk of being wasted if the fields are flooded for an extended period.
Based on that situation, after public complaints and media coverage, the authorities quickly investigated and sought solutions. The Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee agreed on the principle of investing in two flood drainage systems to address the flooding situation in the agricultural production area of Quy Nhon Dong ward, while also contributing to reducing flooding in the residential area downstream of the Ha Thanh River.
In addition, the project investor is also implementing an immediate remedial solution by constructing a 140-meter-long flood drainage system, consisting of two parallel concrete culverts, with a total cost of over 11 billion VND, which the company is undertaking itself.
This can be seen as a positive sign in addressing the problems arising during urban development. In reality, along with the requirements for infrastructure development and urban expansion, ensuring the livelihoods and production of people in the affected areas also needs special attention.
What people often long for is not lengthy explanations, but rather listening, sharing, and concrete, timely solutions. When legitimate concerns are taken seriously, thoroughly considered, and appropriately addressed, people's anxieties gradually subside.
This incident demonstrates that many issues, if detected early, addressed promptly through dialogue, and handled collaboratively at the grassroots level, can prevent prolonged complaints.
Urban development is an inevitable trend. However, this development process needs to be in harmony with people's lives, especially those who are still directly involved in agricultural production.
A construction project can only truly gain consensus when, in addition to development goals, it also takes into account the living environment, livelihoods, and legitimate interests of the people.
When the voices of the people are heard, their difficulties are shared and addressed promptly, and their trust in the government is strengthened through concrete and practical actions in their daily lives.
