>>> Readers are invited to watch the video : Mount Etna erupts
According to RT, the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) reported on June 2 that the cause of the Etna volcano eruption was likely due to the collapse of part of the crater structure in the southeast.
According to the Toulouse Volcano Advisory Center, Mount Etna erupted with lava and ash columns reaching more than 6,400 meters high, forcing many airlines to issue warnings to flights operating in the area. Some flights were delayed due to the ash cloud created by the volcano.

Videos recorded by hikers and tourists show people running away from the mountainside in panic as black smoke billowed from the top.
Media reports said there were about 40 tourists there when the volcano erupted but all have since been moved to safety. There have been no reports of casualties.
An official update later stated that the ash eruption had ended by the afternoon of June 2.
However, authorities urged people to be "extremely cautious" and stay away from areas around the volcano due to the risk of sudden explosions.
