On September 5, a leader of Project Management Board 7 ( Ministry of Construction ) said that the unit is urgently preparing and striving to start the investment project to expand the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway in December 2025.

Project Management Board 7 has just submitted a report on the feasibility study report of the above project to the Vietnam Road Administration (Ministry of Construction).

Accordingly, the investment project to expand the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway is classified as a special traffic project and will be implemented in the period 2025 - 2028. The total investment is more than 41,372 billion VND, an increase of about 1,572 billion VND compared to the previous plan.

The investor proposing the project is a consortium of Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company, Ho Chi Minh City Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company, Tasco Joint Stock Company, Hoang Long Construction Investment Corporation - JSC, CII Service and Investment Company Limited.

Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway is expanded with a total length of 96.13km, starting at Cho Dem intersection (Ho Chi Minh City), ending at the northern end of My Thuan 2 bridge ( Dong Thap province).

For the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong section, it will be expanded from 4 to 8 lanes, the roadbed will be 41m wide, and the design speed will be 120km/h.

In the future, the project will be fully invested according to the planned scale with the section from Cho Dem - Ring Road 4 having a scale of 12 lanes (roadbed width 56m); the section from Ring Road 4 - Trung Luong having a scale of 10 lanes (roadbed width 48.5m).

For the Trung Luong - My Thuan section, it will be expanded from 4 limited lanes to 6 lanes, the roadbed will be 32.25m wide according to the planned scale, with a design speed of 100km/h.

At the same time, build an intelligent traffic system, toll stations, rest stops, etc. on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway to ensure synchronization and compliance with current regulations and standards.

The project is implemented with the aim of reducing traffic congestion, together with the traffic projects currently operating in the area, it will form a complete traffic network in the Southern key economic region and gradually complete the expressway network in the Mekong Delta region.

The project also contributes to meeting the transportation needs from the Western provinces to Ho Chi Minh City, the Southeast region and other provinces and cities nationwide; creating space and motivation for regional space development with a synchronous technical and social infrastructure system, connecting economic centers, international border gates and seaports.
