According to the police, at 1:02 p.m. on August 30, after receiving the fire alarm, the fire prevention and fighting police force dispatched 2 command vehicles and 1 truck; the fire prevention, fighting and rescue police teams of areas 1, 7, 9, and 12 dispatched many fire trucks to the scene.
By 1:45 p.m. the fire was completely extinguished, with no casualties. The fire area was about 300 square meters , with more than 500 motorbikes of various types burned.
Immediately after extinguishing the fire, the Hanoi Police Investigation Agency took witness statements and reviewed cameras around the parking lot to clarify the fire; at the same time, requested the Institute of Criminal Science ( Ministry of Public Security ) to examine the scene and determine the cause and origin of the fire.
On that basis, the initial results determined that the cause of the fire was ruled out as human impact. Currently, the Institute of Criminal Science is conducting an examination to come to an accurate conclusion…
Currently, the police are coordinating with the Hanoi Department of Construction to assess the impact of the fire on the pillars and girders of Vinh Tuy Bridge, ensuring safety for vehicles traveling on the bridge; assessing the quality of concrete, steel reinforcement, etc. to assess the impact and make related recommendations.
