From the center of Cho Ra commune, the road leading to Don Den is about 10 km long with winding curves. In the early morning, the mist covers the mountain slopes, making the road seem to float in the clouds. This journey has become an indispensable experience for those who love adventure travel and like to "hunt" for pristine beauty.
When reaching the top, the thing that overwhelms visitors the most is the endless sea of clouds. The layers of clouds roll up and then spread out, drifting leisurely right below the feet, creating the feeling of standing on a boat floating in the middle of the white ocean. Every dawn, the first rays of the day dye the whole space pink, making the scenery even more magical.
Many young people shared that Don Den offers a “very unique” experience, unlike any other cloud hunting spot in Sa Pa or Ha Giang (old). A group of tourists from Hanoi said: “We left at 3am to reach the top in time to catch the sunrise. The scenery is unimaginably beautiful. The clouds are so close that you can reach out and touch them.”
Locals say the best time to hunt for clouds is in the fall and spring, especially from 5am to 7am. Along provincial road 257B, from km44 to km39, there are many favorable locations to capture “million-like” photos.
