This is an annual event organized by the Vietnam Business Association in Japan (VJBA) under the auspices of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan to create opportunities for businesses of the two countries to exchange experiences and seek directions for business development for the next fiscal year in the Land of the Rising Sun.
According to a VNA reporter in Tokyo, the event was attended by leaders and departments of the Foreign Affairs, Labor, and Investment Departments of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan; representatives of Japanese organizations, Vietnamese associations in Japan, and more than 100 businesses of the two countries.

In her opening speech, Ms. Tong Kim Giao - President of VJBA - said that the theme "Business cooperation without borders" aims at the heart and the desire to overcome geographical and linguistic boundaries as well as all challenges to continue to develop. The event is not only an annual activity but also an opportunity for businesses of the two countries to look back on the journey of connection between the two economies , two cultures and two business communities in recent years, thereby orienting upcoming plans.
Ambassador of the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan Nguyen Sau emphasized that in the context of Vietnam's strong transformation, Vietnamese enterprises in Japan will be the pioneering force and an important bridge to connect the two economies more closely and deeply. Resolution 68 of the Politburo on private economic development creates favorable conditions for private enterprises to develop rapidly and sustainably, contributing positively to the development of the country's economy and contributing to the realization of the goal of making Vietnam a high-income developed country.

According to Ambassador Nguyen Sau, in Japan, VJBA has been constantly developing with an increasing number of members and actively organizing many activities such as promoting investment in Japan, organizing Japanese business delegations to Vietnam to explore cooperation possibilities and participating in the first Vietnam - Japan local conference in Quang Ninh province in recent times. This has contributed practically to promoting the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries to become increasingly close and substantive.
Within the framework of this year's Vietnam - Japan Business Day, the Organizing Committee spent a morning implementing the "Workshop" program, where speakers exchanged and shared knowledge about the difficulties and challenges of operating a business in Japan, analyzed corporate tax issues as well as practical perspectives to help businesses optimize legal compliance and financial transparency...

There were also thematic discussions revolving around the content of "New chapter in Vietnam - Japan partnership: Exploiting potential, cooperation without distance". The discussion focused on recognizing and evaluating the prospects for cooperation in the field of trade and investment promotion between the two countries in the coming time, a topical and strategic topic, especially in the context of Vietnam - Japan relations being in a good development stage as at present. Along with that, there were also VJBA Roundtable discussions with the topics "2025: Overcoming the waves" and "2026: Setting sail", focusing on sharing information on the difficulties and challenges that young Vietnamese businesses in Japan are facing, the experiences of previous businesses and cooperation opportunities in the coming period.

Speaking at the discussion session, Trade Counselor of the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan Ta Duc Minh said that over the past year, Vietnam-Japan economic and trade cooperation has achieved positive results in the context of the global economy facing many difficulties, including the significant contribution of the Vietnamese business community in Japan. However, the two sides have not yet fully exploited their available potential and need to promote the expansion of the scope of cooperation. Mr. Ta Duc Minh pointed out 5 key lessons, including: Quality is a vital factor on the basis of ensuring "stability - consistency - accuracy"; Respecting commitments and deadlines is mandatory; Transparency of records, full traceability; Serious investment in logistics and preservation; Making the most of the bridging role of the Vietnam Embassy in Japan, considering it a "strategic companion".

Sharing with VNA reporters, Mr. Toshihiro Nakamura - CEO of EX ADMEDIA ASIA - said: "Our company has opened a branch in Ho Chi Minh City and the Director is Japanese. Up to now, most of the company's cooperation content is with Japanese enterprises in Vietnam. On the other hand, I also know that many Vietnamese people who go to Japan only do business with Vietnamese enterprises. Recently, our company has recruited more Vietnamese employees and I hope they will develop so that they can return to Vietnam to join the leadership team of the company's branch in Vietnam. This direction will help further expand cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese enterprises and two-way trade will be significantly improved compared to the present."

The first Vietnam - Japan Business Day will be held in 2023, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of VJBA and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Japan diplomatic relations. After 3 times of organization, the event has become more and more substantial and has truly become a reliable destination for businesses of the two countries to maintain the spirit of learning, creativity, cooperation to cope with difficulties and challenges and share opportunities in the future.
