Comrade Ly Anh Thu - Provincial Party Committee member, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the 15th term of An Giang province and Comrade Giang Thanh Khoa - Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
Representatives of local authorities, investors and contractors performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the onshore pipeline project - Lot B - O Mon gas pipeline project.
The Block B - O Mon gas pipeline project is one of the key national oil and gas projects, playing a strategic role in ensuring energy security, promoting clean and sustainable energy development in the Southern region. In particular, the onshore pipeline plays a role in connecting gas from offshore to shore, supplying gas power plants in O Mon and neighboring areas.
The project has a total investment of about 1.16 billion USD. The total length of the project is about 430 km, of which the onshore pipeline is 102 km long, passing through the provinces of Ca Mau , Can Tho and An Giang. The section through An Giang is the longest among the localities with about 70 km, passing through 8 communes. When completed, the Block B gas - power project chain is expected to supply 5-6 billion m³ of gas/year, meeting the electricity needs of millions of households.
Block B - O Mon gas pipeline project is invested by SWPOC; PTSC and Lilama18 are general contractors and implementers; expected to complete the entire pipeline and be ready to receive gas in September 2027.
Up to now, the EPC design of the onshore pipeline has been 100% completed, the procurement and production of pipes has reached 75%, the pipe coating has reached 45%; the ground treatment and construction of the O Mon GDC station are being implemented on schedule.
Regarding compensation, support and resettlement, An Giang province has handed over about 31km of cleared land, reaching 89% of the volume, ready for construction. The remaining area continues to be accelerated by the Provincial Land Fund Development Center and related communes.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Giang Thanh Khoa highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and close coordination between the investor, contractors, consultants and supervisors in the construction preparation work. The province committed to completing the compensation, support, resettlement and handing over the entire clean site as soon as possible, contributing to ensuring the overall progress of the project.
