The competition, themed "Cadres, members, and youth of the armed forces of An Giang province with the Great Victory of Spring 1975," featured four participating teams: Regiment 892 (Provincial Military Command); Brigade 6 (Military Region 9); Chau Phu District Youth Union; and Chau Phu District Military Command. The teams competed in three parts: self-introduction; knowledge test; and talent show. The self-introduction by Chau Phu District Youth Union created a lively atmosphere for the competition. In this part, using theatrical performances (singing, dancing, folk songs, etc.), the teams skillfully introduced their team and each member, leaving a strong impression on the judges.
In the knowledge test, each team chose a set of questions from the organizers. Using their acquired knowledge, the teams quickly completed the test, with most achieving perfect scores. The most important part of the competition was the talent show, presented in the form of a public speaking. The requirements for this section were to highlight the chosen topic in relation to the competition's theme, relating it to the practical experiences of cadres and youth union members regarding law enforcement, discipline, and the role of youth in protecting the Fatherland today. It also aimed to express deep gratitude for the immense contributions and sacrifices of previous generations; to strengthen the faith and promote the responsibility of the youth of the provincial armed forces, the youth and people of An Giang province towards the task of building the army, consolidating national defense and security, contributing to building a prosperous and happy country, and firmly protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the new situation.
“Participating in the competition is not only an opportunity to pay tribute to the older generations, but also a chance for us to spread our love of history, awaken national pride, inspire and encourage the younger generation to continue the tradition and promote the sacred values that the victory of April 30th has left for generations to come,” shared Lieutenant Nguyen Thanh Nhan (892nd Regiment). Nguyen Thi Huynh Nhu (Chau Phu District Youth Union) said: “The younger generation, especially the youth union members of Chau Phu district, are increasingly aware of their role and responsibility in preserving and promoting the tradition of ‘Drinking water, remembering the source.’ Meaningful activities have been organized, such as: Visiting Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families of policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services, caring for martyrs' cemeteries, lighting candles of gratitude, organizing traditional activities…”.
Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Sang (Deputy Head of Political Department of the Provincial Military Command) stated: “The competition aims to widely disseminate information to cadres, union members, and young people to fully and deeply understand the meaning, great scale, and immense historical value of the Great Victory of Spring 1975 in the history of our nation's struggle for national construction and defense, and the revolutionary movement in the world; affirming the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, the spirit of great unity, the aspiration for peace , independence, national unity, and the strength of the Vietnam People's Army... as the basic factors that made the nation's great victory possible. In addition, it honors and expresses gratitude for the contributions of our military and people, especially the great achievements and contributions of cadres, soldiers, and volunteer youth who directly participated in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign.”
The competition concluded with the first prize going to the 6th Brigade team. However, the most precious reward the teams received was national pride and a deeper understanding of the sacred value of the word "peace." The competition ended, but it opened a new journey – a journey of dedication by young people to their homeland and country.
