When children are the center
Despite many difficulties in terms of facilities and equipment, over the years, Huong Hoa Kindergarten (Tuyen Son Moi Commune) has always strived to innovate and apply modern educational models to improve the effectiveness of child care, nurturing and education.
Principal of Huong Hoa Kindergarten Cao Thi Hong Xoan said: In order to promote positivity, proactiveness, train thinking, exploration and creativity in children, the school has implemented the STEAM/STEM education model into experiential activities. Not only arranging study and play corners in groups and classes, the school also built an outdoor STEAM educational experience area, creating conditions for children to participate in STEAM projects, doing small experiments such as creating rainbows, filtering water, observing insects...
The school has set up “open” learning corners, using natural materials close to life such as pebbles, leaves, shells, etc. to allow children to freely create. During each school year, the school always organizes trips for children to the countryside market, visit rice fields, offer incense at historical sites, etc. to help children approach reality, helping them develop language and social skills.
The school also prioritizes land to grow vegetables, tubers, fruits and uses locally available food sources (free range chickens, stream fish, wild vegetables)... to serve boarding meals ensuring food safety and nutrition for children. The green vegetable garden model is not only an educational solution associated with nature but also a useful playground for children to experience reality through activities such as weeding, planting trees, watering trees, harvesting vegetables...
From these seemingly simple tasks, children learn how to take care of plants, understand more about the growth process of plants, thereby forming awareness of environmental protection and knowing how to appreciate the fruits of labor.
One of the activities that the school pays great attention to is improving the quality of the teaching staff, considering this a key factor in determining the effectiveness of child care and education. In addition to organizing professional activities in the direction of lesson research, focusing on children, the school also builds an "innovation and creativity corner" for teachers to propose new ideas for research and application in practice.
Extracurricular activities such as "Children learn to do housework", "Children enjoy Mid-Autumn Festival", "My hometown food festival", traffic safety education, drowning prevention... are regularly organized with the cooperation of parents, creating a bond between school and family in caring for and educating children.
Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Mai Thi Lien Giang said: In recent years, the education and training sector has always effectively implemented patriotic emulation movements, through which many outstanding collectives and individuals with good models and new ways of doing things have emerged. Along with Huong Hoa Kindergarten, Chu Van An Secondary and High School, the sector also has many outstanding collectives such as Vo Nguyen Giap Specialized High School, Quach Xuan Ky Secondary School, Dong Phu Primary School... along with many outstanding teachers and students in the movement "Good Teaching - Good Learning", contributing to spreading the spirit of emulation widely throughout the sector. |
Building a modern educational environment
One of the typical bright spots of the movement "Friendly school, active students" is the Chu Van An Education System, especially Chu Van An Secondary and High School with the construction of an "open" and modern educational environment.

Vice Principal Dang Thi Khanh Quyen said: The school has invested synchronously in the system of classrooms, functional rooms, open libraries, cafeterias... ensuring safety, convenience, modernity, with a green, clean, beautiful campus with more than 100 species of trees, flowers, clean vegetable gardens... Through forms such as assigning classes to take charge of planting and taking care of vegetable gardens, flower gardens, promoting environmental education, the school's students are trained in responsibility, collective awareness, forming a green lifestyle, friendly with nature.
The school always organizes extracurricular activities such as "Exchanging scrap for trees festival", recycled product design contest, and field trips, practical experiences on environmental protection, biodiversity protection... to raise students' awareness of the role of the environment in life.
Over the years, Chu Van An Secondary and High School has paid special attention to supporting students' school psychology, organizing many practical seminars on sex education, life skills, preventing school violence, and conflict resolution skills.
The hotline and mailbox “What I Want to Say” were established and maintained to grasp students’ thoughts and aspirations, accompanying them in their growth process. The school also has the Teenyeeu Club, a place for students to learn about children’s rights and receive age-appropriate psychological support. The club also connects with experts and advisory boards to listen, accompany and share with students in all situations.
With the motto "Teaching what students need, helping students reach the world", the school focuses on improving the quality of English teaching according to Cambridge international standards and orienting towards teaching English as a second language. The school has coordinated with Cambridge examination centers to implement the assessment of English teaching quality according to international standards. Many students of the school have achieved IELTS certificates above 5.0 from grade 6, and achieved Cambridge PET certificates (B1 Preliminary) from grade 8.
With a team of well-trained teachers, a synchronous system of facilities, especially a modern STEM room, the school has effectively implemented the STEM Robotics Program since the 2020-2021 school year. Students have access to knowledge from many "open" sources such as: Digital library, smart classroom, AI application... and are always encouraged to innovate and personalize in the learning process.
Life skills, physical education, and arts education are enhanced with a variety of activities. From the 2019-2020 school year, basketball has been taught periodically, 1 period/week. Every year, the school organizes more than 25 events, extracurricular experiences and picnics with many attractive topics, along with art competitions such as Chu Van An Got Talent, art competitions, local experiential education and many meaningful humanitarian and charitable activities.
Thanks to comprehensive innovation in management, teaching and learning methods, the quality of education in schools is increasingly improved, creating a safe and friendly learning environment... This is a solid foundation for the province's education and training sector to develop sustainably, meeting the requirements of innovation and integration.
